Switching from Resistance to Loyalist

Hey guys I have a question about switching sides. I see in the color text in certain missions that it would be a good time to report to Provost Marchand but as far as I can tell he is in a building I can't enter. Any help? Thanks for your time

Hm, maybe I'm bugged or messed up something. I don't see him in my contact list. Thank you though

I believe that text displays all the time, even if you aren't the opposite alignment. It's for characters who're on one path to do undercover work while running arcs for the opposite side.

ie, Resistance members can do the Responsibility Loyalist arc, but not the Power Loyalist arc. When running the Responsibility Loyalist arc as a Resistance member, you can call Calvin Scott and let him know what's up. Loyalists running the Responsibility arc will still see that "Call Calvin Scott" message though.

The contact in question might under Inactive as well.

if you are not a loyalist, he won't be in your contact list.

To actually switch sides, you will have a choice mission ( do this for loyalist, or that for resistance - each one will be a solo only mission) at the end of pretty much every contact as I recall.

As I remember it, the contacts with missions where you have a choice to call are all the either side contacts - so Responsibility Loyalist arcs and Warden Resistance arcs.

Calling, or not calling, Marchand or Scott doesn't have any effect on your ability to switch sides. All it does is add a little more to the story, and add an occasional extra choice when talking to someone.

For example, when you talk to B.V. at the end of Robert Flores' arc, if you're a Loyalist, and call Marchand before you enter the mission, you'll have two options when you talk to her, intead of the usual one option.
