Trapdoor Question...
'twas always that way. I don't think it was necessarily an indicator of the incarnate system, just that Trapdoor was supposed to have gotten his powers from the Well in the same fashion that States and Recluse have. And as such, he got tossed into the Alpha arc.
Kinda wrong Android, about the part Trapdoor getting his powers from the well the same way. It was forced on Trapdoor via Tainted well water* Recluse had. Trapdoor was a lab rat for Lord Recluse for trying to get more of the wells powers.
As Recluse said in the Ramiel arc "The path? There is no one true path, Character. Well... That isn't true. There are some ways towards becoming an Incarnate. Perhaps... You would like to offer yourself as an experiment to find out just..."
*From what i recall so might be wrong myself.

I don't believe it's exactly explained how he got his powers aside from the various implications. Recluse forced incarnate powers on him somehow through experimental means (and it's later revealed he was trying to get the same power for himself to avoid the Well's control), and the Well called the power "tainted". But then Grillo briefly mentions the Well after his arc, so I'm assuming that's where it came from.
Either way, text wasn't updated after i19. It may have been a minor case of foreshadowing, but there are supposedly references to Avillians in the game as well, so maybe Cryptic just covered all the bases at the time.
At the end of Operative Grillo's arc with Trapdoor he says:
"Its amazing what the power of the Well can grant its users...erm forget I said that" Has he *always* said that or was that dialogue added when alpha slot arc went live? If he always said that, its interesting to think back that in Issue 7 (When 40-50 was added for villains) that the plans were set in motion.. |
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Well, the man said "Forget I said that" -- so I couldn't tell you if he mentioned it or not, I forgot he said it.
