Which character slots will I keep when I go back to Premium?

Hi,
I think, but not positive, that they all get locked and you get to choose which to unlock.

IIRC, any global slots you assigned to a server when you were premium will remain locked to that server (haven't done prem-VIP-prem myself yet) but they will be be place-able within the server.
As you have noticed, when you go VIP again it will give you 12 server based slots per server to use to unlock slots.
Just note that if you don't have a character uses a powerset or archetype you do not have unlocked as a premium (controller and Mastermind for low-level premiums, Epic ATs no matter what) it will let you unlock the slot but the character itself will still be locked.

If you use a global slot token, it turns into a server slot token. Server slot tokens can only be used on that server, they cannot be moved elsewhere. So you can unlock however many characters (or empty slots) are on however many servers that you have server slot unlocks on, and then however many global slot tokens you have, that's how many characters (or empty slots) you can unlock anywhere you choose (except Exalted).

Thanks for the clarifications on global slots. I'll hang on to those global slots until my VIP time expires, though I think I'll be sticking to good ol' Virtue even when I'm not paying.
I subbed for a couple of years, and recently came back to try out CoH Freedom. As a Premium account, I had four server slots and two global slots, so I unlocked my two favorite characters on Virtue and decided to hold on to the other slots until I decided which alts I wanted to play this time around. Then I decided to add Going Rogue, and that gave me a month of VIP access. Now I have sixteen slots per server, so I unlocked a few more old characters and made a few new ones. I now have used 9/16 server slots on Virtue, and a couple on other servers.
When my time runs out and I revert to a Premium account with four server slots, which slots will be unlocked? Will it be the first four I unlocked, even though some were unlocked as VIP? Or will it lock everything again and let me choose which four I unlock?
