Game wont run.

Ok, so i just got this new laptop, I updated the drivers and everything then installed COH, i launch the games, login then select my character.

But when it loads the map "Atlas" (or any other map), it loads at a good speed, but when it gets to like....90% done it freezes and stalls for about 3-5 mins (or less sometimes), then kicks me back to the log in screen. And this happens every time, i even tried loggin on different servers, re-installing, repairing, but the same thing happens over and over.

I went on the website (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/)
"Can you run it"

And it says that can run COH, any ideas why this happens?, i have no Skinning programs.

Do this first, we can probably help a whole lot better with the information. Post it up here in a reply, please, and maybe some info such as type of computer (model, maker, etc) or the parts used (GeForce 260, Radeon 6970, XP, Vista, 7, 2G memory or 4G, that sort of thing.) Thanks! We'll get ya running I bet.

This is a new laptop? Or just new to you? It is woefully underpowered for doing anything more than basic computing tasks. If you just bought this in order to play City of Heroes, my recommendation would be to return it and spend the money on buying a computer that will at least meet the Recommended Requirements for City of Heroes.

If you are going to try to stay with this laptop:

Your video card and it's drivers are the most likely culprit here. That is a very basic graphics chipset designed to run basic Windows graphics, not graphics intensive video games.

The video card drivers are almost 4 years old and were released two years prior to the graphics update that came in Issue 17 in early 2010.

Unfortunately, those are the newest drivers on the Intel website so there is nothing you can do to change that.

Several of the video options are showing as Unknown in the CoH Helper report. Go into the Options Menu to the Graphiics and Audio tab, change those settings one step higher, Apply the changes, then change them back to the lowest setting.

Your memory is at the very bare minimum to run the game, and many of the tech types here consider what is listed as the Minimum System Requirements to be much too low. More memory might help with the problem or it might not. It would help the game and computer run better over all, but it's not a guarantee to fix your problems.

Update Windows to Service Pack 3, and install any other Windows Updates available.

Are you trying to run the laptop wirelessly? If so, try to connect the laptop using ethernet to eliminate any wireless problems.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

502MB of memory as a starting point, less due to integrated video swiping some. Ancient Intel integrated video for graphics, Pentium M based Celeron M single core CPU. Hard drive info is missing but it's likely a fairly slow hard drive as well.

It gets slow as the game is trying to load 10 pounds of stuff into a 3 pound bag. Memory, well lack of it, is your number one problem in getting the game to run there. And if you ever get through loading, expect maybe 10-15 FPS, a bit higher in indoor missions, and while traveling through a zone, expect a lot of stuttering especially if you encounter groups of other players.

And systemrequirements.com should catch on fire and burn. It really gives new players a lot of false hopes when it comes to whether their hardware can run the game. I guess it depends on how you define "run".

Point blank: Return that thing.

/I will not coddle bad hardware, and that is bad hardware, even for internet, these days.
