Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2553270) 32-Bit Edition
Doesn't sound like the normal ATI issue, but what video"card" does your laptop have?
And what version drivers does it currently have?
Also, the more tech savey tend to congregate in the "Gameplay And Technical Issues" forum in the development section - that is an All Access Player helping Player (mostly) forum more for these kinds of issues. If you do end up asking there, do link to this thread so they can see what has already been proposed/done.
Wish you luck!

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Does sound suscipiously like a video driver issue. Look in the 'Gameplay and Technical' forum for drivers confirmed to play well with the game.'
Oh, and red text hurts my eyes and I'm sure a few others. Others, who might be interested in your post but upon seeing the color of your text, won't even bother.
Red text is nearly invisible against the villain style (which has red background colors). Stop that.
(Thankfully I have a script that strips colors out of posts so I don't have to worry about trying to read red-on-red or neon colors.)

The OP has posted in the Gameplay/Technical Issues & Bugs section as Rajani Isa and Mr_Body suggested.
He is being assisted there, although there isn't much that can be done with that old of a laptop due to the Intel 945 Mobile graphics chipset (newest drivers are from February 2008) and 512 Mb of RAM (shared with the video card).
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Ok, so i just got this new laptop, I updated the drivers and everything then installed COH, i launch the games, login then select my character.
But when it loads the map "Atlas" (or any other map), it loads at a good speed, but when it gets to like....90% done it freezes and stalls for about 3-5 mins (or less sometimes), then kicks me back to the log in screen. And this happens every time, i even tried loggin on different servers, re-installing, repairing, but the same thing happens over and over.
I went on the website (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/)
"Can you run it"
And it says that can run COH, any ideas why this happens?, i have no Skinning programs.
