im currently working on lvling a stone/titan weps tanker that i have found is fun to play. now im comming here to see if someone would be able to pass me a mids build for my toon. i have little experience with making builds as it is and idk anything about making a tank build so any help would be awesome. cost of sets is not a problem. if its possible id like to request Spring Attack added into the build if its at all possible. thanks.

Titan weapons isnt in the current edition of Mids. From what Ive seen the new mids should be out within the week (Christmas present to all the builders?)

So to get a correct build we all have to wait.

are you familiar with Granite? the minus recharge might suck with TW not sure though. Momentum might counteract it

once Granite is toggled it shuts off the other sheilds, so if you plan to stay in granite most the time you won't technically need the other sheilds.

There should be plenty of Stone Armor builds laying around that you could look at. I'm awaiting Mids to update also, so I can check out the TW numbers.

im new to stone so i dident know there was a -rech and ya i planed to stay in granite armor so i had no intention of getting any of the other shields beyond what was needed. a few well placed lotg: globals + hasten should fis any problems with the -rech from granite should it not? theres also incarnate stuff to be factored in aswell.

also yes i noticed mids isent updated yet :P. was late when i posted this so it sliped my mind.

yeah, the minus rech is 65%..basically negating Hasten (70%)

damage is reduced by 30%

You could try a brute instead? You'd still be tough and fury would help with the damage.

Stone is a fun and unique set definitely worth trying out.

I've seen people slot a handful of +run speed bonuses to help out with movement. It won't make a ton of difference so I wouldn't sacrifice anything for it. You could slot a few gift of the ancients, PerfShift, Aegis, and Gaussian's...maybe Winter's Gift.

Does momentum only affect animation time?

anyways, gl.

heh. Just for the fun of it I built for run speed.

I didn't take tough/weave cause you shouldn't need it, but mainly to save endurance.

momentum is buildup with the added bonus of granting momentum and making your anamation times for the attacks gone. also some of the finishers cant be activated without momentum. its an interesting powerset. i really like it. recharge time isent that bad as far as i know for the set and when you have momentum up it really dishes out the hits but its attacks are slow without. also the first power gives a 15% def for S/L. i would be fine with the toon not dishing out too much damage because he should be doing his job as a tank. not scrapper.

On my Stone/Fire, I used Kin Combats and a few other sets to get to the S/L defense cap in Rock armor. This lets me stay out of Granite most of the time, so I don't suffer the -Recharge and -Damage effects of Granite. Anytime he starts to take significant damage, I pop into Granite. However, most of the time, I can stay out of Granite.

I'm also running a Stone/Titan tank, Just hit level 25 tonight, so it will be a while before I'm ready for an end-game build. I prefer to wait on the decisions until I know how the sets perform. I suspect that I will want to also build for S/L defense cap like my Stone/Fire.

Defensive Sweep is a T1 power that gives 15~23% defense to melee and smash (for tanks/scrap).

Base recharge is 4sec. I'm assuming its stackable?

so this power should give some option's when building for defense.

In fact, if its stackable you dont have to build for ANY defense (Fire Armor/Regen).
Two application's could soft-cap.

am I missing something here? a TW can soft-cap melee at lvl 1?!

I see Brute's get a smaller amount of defense (11~17%).

so DS is a cone and has -res for tanks (bruising)

interesting..

I like how the range/radius on TW is about double that of Mace and Broadsword (as it should be)

I wonder if this would work for a non-Granite build?

Build needs more things to tank.

34% s/l def. 14% melee def. 11% s/l resistance. Not to flame but Ive seen blasters with better defense and resistance numbers.

no the defence bonus does not stack. id say saddly but that would be a little too broken. another thing is im not after a tank that deals massive amounts of damage. if i want that i would play another archtype. im after a toon thats exactly that. a tank. i do have a few questions to those of you that know stone tanks.

how does a granite tank's end hold up under normal combat?
does leadership (tatics, manuvers, assult) work well in tank builds?
would spring attack be good to have?

my ideal build would be granite armor plus the powers that work with it from stone then the aoe/cone powers from titan weps, leadership, spring attack. beyond that im open to suggestions.

yeah, its not a real defensive build, even tho yer missing another 15% defense to smash and melee from Defensive Sweep.

since DS isn't stackable I'd rework the build, but tbh, building for uber defense isn't something that seems necessary on a tank (everyone's got a opinion).

I've made alot of "uber" tanks in the past and I find it kinda boring now, so I tend to not worry so much about defense :P

i can understand that an uber tank could get boring but it would be nice for me since i dont have one. my only other tank (invuln/mace) just never really grabs my attention so i dont run him much.
