This certainly looks interesting. I'm liking all of the "Adult" fairy tales that have been coming out lately.

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

Might have to see that, looks somewhat unique to me.

Damn you, Hollywood....would you actually bother to READ the stuff you base things off of?
"Jack and the Beanstalk is a folktale said by English historian Francis Palgrave to be an oral legend that arrived in England with the Vikings. The tale is closely associated with the tale of Jack the Giant-killer."

"In the classic version of the tale, the giant is unnamed, but many plays based on the story name him as Blunderbore; a giant of that name also appears in Jack the Giant Killer."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_and_the_Beanstalk

Well the story's are 'close' to each other in a way i guess. Mixing the two won't hurt much maybe?

Dunno about that Lycanus. Five magic beans. Giant beanstalk. Gold laying fowl. Magical playing harps....seems to be the right Jack to me.

However, since the people in Hollywood wanted a feature length film (which means longer than 90 minutes nowadays), they pretty much had to add some things into it. Heck, even Disney wasn't able to milk the story for more than 30 minutes, and that was with Mickey!

For myself, I think it looks interesting, but I won't be seeing it in the theatre.

yeah, but Jack the Giant Killer's story has NONE of those things....there's none of the swapping beans for a cow or anything...there's just Jack up and deciding to head out and be a hero...

Ah. I had not known about the Giant Killer Jack.
My whole posting was based on what I saw in the trailer and Jack and the Beanstalk...

the sad thing is that there's an older Hollywood movie by the people that did the 7th Voyage of Sinbad which, while not following Jack's story, is at least closer than using the wrong storyline

Personally, I think as long as they incorporate both stories, it's all good. The majority of people don't know the difference and "Jack the Giant Killer" vs. "Jack and the Beanstalk", Giant Killer is a much less kid-related name for it, which seems to be what they're going for.
