Having problems with TW/EA
1. Slot it only for damage or respec out of it.
2. I'm not sure about the +Res +Def Destiny, I'll be going for Rebith to get Heal + Regen, because I think EA doesn't need the additional Res/Def, but another Heal and more Regen can't hurt.
That's just my 0.02 though.
Well, there's always Crushing Blow instead. I'm a little iffy on the value of Defensive Sweep for typed defense sets anyway, since it only boosts smashing, which gives you sort of a lethal defense hole. Crushing Blow does have the advantage of being the fastest TW power without momentum, so it's the fastest way to get your momentum started (except Build Momentum, of course).
I don't know specifically about /EA on trials, but with softcapped defense plus some extra from Energy Drain to push you closer to the trial-softcap, I should think you can be pretty effective even without the res from Barrier.
I never use any +def attacks on any toons. At 50 they're useless
For positional defense sets, or armor sets that have no built in defense, they are fantastic. You can softcap melee much easier allowing you to build set bonuses up for other things. They can turn /Regen from "meh" into god mode.
Even my /Invuln will soon be taking Parry again. Largely because it is much cheaper to softcap melee than S/L/E/N and foes don't attack me at range much. I'll also be using Shadow Meld to take my typed defenses over the softcap on demand. Oh, and that's all with only one opponent in melee range which almost never happens except in AV fights.

Well, it is trivially easy to softcap s/l/e/n with TW/EA due to all of the erads and kincoms you can slot, as well some interesting choices for def/res. But, it renders one power mostly useless; Def sweep becomes pretty pointless except maybe as a LotG +7.5 mule. Is there any way to get more use out of that power, and if so, how? And is the +resist destiny power enough to make EA significantly effective in Incarnate level fights? I am trying to decide between this and two completely different brutes. I really like TW/EA at 32 on test, running on just SOs, but I am concerned about past 51+. Thanks.
