Kin/Fire- Is it as good as it seems

These stats I came up with in Mids seem ridiculiously good for defense, endurance recovery through transference, and of course damage.

Isi t really possible to get S/L/E defense above 75% and most others about 50% when the cap is only 45%?

I know this build may be overkill but couldn't I fight stuff way above my level with this build?

Without looking at your actual build and slotting choices, Kin/Fire will be good, but will be strictly worse than a Fire/Kin Corruptor due to lower base damage, a lower damage cap, and no scourging rain of fire. There really isn't any competition, this particular combination just performs so much better on corruptors.

Also the defense softcap is 45% (59% on incarnate trials), and you're not going to be really fighting anything above +4 due to the purple patch. I would aim for 45% S/L defense (energy if you want to) then put everything else into recharge and a bit of +hp.

If you count Vengeance, sure. It's not realistic to assume you'll have Vengeance up all the time, though.

And the OP is talking about the "soft cap" as though it were a "hard cap" which it isn't. Each AT actualy has it's own defense hard cap and they are all over 150% I believe, and I think the highest is something around 280%. "Soft cap" defense, however, is the amount of defense at which any more is useless. Because of how defense works, having 100% defense won't do you any better than having 45% defense, unless you get debuffed.

Pretty much this. It's not like you're gimped if you choose defender (far from it), but the only big reason to choose a defender over a corruptor for this combination is getting fulcrum shift earlier.
