New TV, cant play game. Help!

Just bought a Panasonic TC-L32C3 TV monitor to replace my dead monitor. I got it hooked up, and can use the computer fine. Internet, video and audio playback fine.
Problem is, as soon as the game loads up, the screen goes blank, and nothing I can do other than hitting the reset on the computer gets me out of the no screen mode.

Any ideas?

It very well maybe the max resolution of the tv and the resolution that you have set in the game.
Try changing the resolution... I suppose the only way you'll be able to do that is by launching the game in its Safe Mode.
If that doesn't work... you need better help than me!

They had announced a way to change game's settings from the launcher, but they were scrapped... right?

The TV probably doesn't support the resolution you were running the game at last. You can try running the game in safe mode (from NCSoft Launcher. right click on City of Heroes, select properties, click the "Run in Safe Mode" checkbox), then reselect your settings and restart the game.

You can also try forcing the application to run at new resolution by adding "-screen X Y" to the Extra Command Line Parameters bar on the properties screen, where X and Y are a resolution that your TV supports. My 19" monitor would use the following example: "-screen 1280 1024"

Keep in mind that if your new monitor is running at a higher resolution than the old one, your graphics card will need to work harder to render the screen. You may notice a loss of performance.

Hmm, how are you connecting the TV up to your computer? HDMI or 15 pin d-sub, S-Video?

If I recall correctly, Panasonics have issues with PCs via HDMI.

Also, other than the monitor/TV there really isn't any other information to really go by.

This is the correct fix. The TV/Monitor (and this is usually true of most TV/Monitors...) have certain resolutions you MUST HIT EXACTLY. If you were using the game's default settings, then it just went full screen and to a lower resolution. Or, you may have tweaked it for your monitor (because it scaled, whereas the TV/Monitor doesn't, to the naitive resolution) and simply hooking up the monitor, telling it to be Windowed, then putting it back on the TV will work fine.

/It is my humble opinion that it should DEFAULT to a window. That will *always* work, and those who wanna tweak it, can do so at their own risk of... well, this.
//Unless they've done so, and I'm remembering the olden days... I've not had need to start from scratch in a while...
