i took a look at my control panel and saw that for some reason i had my sli disabled. once i turned it on the temp went down but the problem persist

I use Precision to manually up the fan speeds in order to keep things cool. Worth looking into.

It's overheating. Just needs cleaning. Get a can of air, and spray the cards. Also ensure the fans are all running.
