Latest Patch: Renders NVidia out of date?
They expanded the parameters for their suggested videocard driver numbers, invalidating several players' ability to login at all in the process. I pm'd a redname in the middle of the night about the issue, and forwarded them to this thread if you wanna copy/paste your issue into there for consolidation of the problem. A nice bug report thread with tons of pages gets the issue more acknowledgement than a ton of threads about it I'm guessing .
I call their personal issues with our drivers more of CoHs famous "play the way we want you to play or leave". CoH graphics haven't had an overhaul since i17, somebody just decided to nuke a few players for no reason by adding to the list of incompatible/outdated drivers apparently. How nice of them. /sarcasm

10 50's To Date! Check out Titan Sentinel; it got my CoH presence synced online

What is your video card, anyway?

I have a GeForce200, and have been able to play fine until last nite
It seems like everyone who has this problem ran the game just fine.
Why they had to update the driver check is beyond me.
Made an AR/Dev blaster, had fun. Then ED came. AR/Dev sucked. Quit for two years. Came back for a while. AR/Dev still sucks. Quit after getting bored again. Came back. AR/Dev still sucks.

But no. That's not a good reason right?

Did they change any graphic settings within the past two months?

The game engine itself isn't the only thing contributing to graphical issues. Patches to other software systems in Windows can cause destabilization as well.
Simply because YOU had not experienced these issues doesn't mean others were not.
That's, essentially, like being the only one on your block whose house WASN'T hit by a tornado and then griping about the disaster relief workers in your area.
I really doubt that any changes they've made to the engine required them to make it so that drivers that aren't up to date caused huge issues with people.
When there's a big sticky at the top of this forum warning people that the new AMD drivers DO NOT WORK with City of Heroes and they force this through, that's not really on the player's end of things.
Edit: Actually, with their track record of patch notes, that's not actually something too far out of the realm of plausibility.

What's worse is that I have an HP Touchsmart 600 (all in one) that i belive the GFX card is integrated into, so I'm really not sure if I can upgrade to a new card to just resolve the issue..(and get new shinies / framerate)
Hmmm....I noticed after the patch my Nvidia card was having issues and sure enought there was a new driver from the publisher. Think I am running a GeForce 8500. After the driver update all was good witht he world.
Simple issue that I'm not sure of being coincidental or being experienced by others, but after downloading the 11/10/11 patch it seems my GFX card has disappeared from my NVidia control panel. Furthermore, when trying to play CoH, it will go in game (if it gets past character select) for all of about a minute before force closing with the following message:

Anyone have any idea what could have happened? My card worked just fine prior to the patch...
