SJ/WP Build - HELP ME!!!
Focusing on damage bonuses on a brute is like watering your plants in the rain. It might help, but... really? it's raining! stop watering! (you have a lot of +damage, a few extra % isn't that much). Also on a similar note. Combat Readiness isn't that great of a power imo. It is better to just keep attacking instead. Again, this is my opinion.
As a Will Power brute focus on Smashing/Lethal defense and then Energy/Negative defense to 45% (With or without Darkest Night is personal preference) then +HP for extra pseudo res.
This might work for yah. With darkest night on mobs, it will give you some -def protection or with an AV will give you the soft cap (Debuff res from AVs stink sometimes).

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
Thanks, this is pretty much the exact advice I needed. The reason I was focusing on Damage buffs is that, for the majority of the time leading up to now I soloed thi character. But recently I've gotten into a lot of task forces and have been left feeling like I'm falling behind in the damage department. Mobs are falling down dead before I can even get a good fury bar going!
But I can definately see the wisdom in the percentage sizes of dam buffs not being of great benefit to a brute. Thanks for the build Pine. I might tinker with it to try and fit Pyre Mastery in instead of dark. I like the idea of jumping into the middle of a spawn, letting off Melt Armor to get their attention then cutting loose with a couple of AoE attacks.
Mobs falling down dead before you even get to CLOSE to melee as a brute isn't that uncommon on a task force, especially Incarnate Trials. You ARE falling behind on damage, as you're not a Blaster.
Your glorious fury filled damage is waiting for you on the AVs (it only takes a few swings against one to get up to speed because attacking AVs gives you more Fury per attack). Like _Pine_ said it's better for your damage if you focus on being tough enough to survive being toe to toe with them long enough to get your licks in.
Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."
I haven't done much with willpower. How good is it's proximity based self heal? I tend to like having a self heal so I've avoided this set but it's always looked interesting.

I've been playing on and off on various accounts since villains launch but I have never actualy gotten a hero all the way to level 50. At least until now. My Street Justice/Willpower brute is currently level 43 and is still huge amounts of fun to play and so is going to steamroll through to 50 and so I am looking to put together an IO build for her.
I have a little under 1 billion to play with, but am willing to play the market to get more until I can afford a great build. The one I have put together focuses on Damage Buffs and elemental defense when I can fit it.
Any help would be appreciated, this will be my first real IO build so I'm happy to take on any info you guys can give me.
