Electricity BLast
Does volcanic sentenial get effected by incarnate powers like muscle or reactive. If all it did was spam 1 attack it might be able to stack reactive pretty good.
Electricity is not bad. It has decent aoe attacks. The problem is that its secondary effect is you either drain it to zero and KEEP IT AT ZERO or don't bother draining at all. This sort of forces people to go for /Elec to become a sapper.
I just wish they could make VS last a bit longer. I find that on a good team, VS is usually just lagging behind me. lol
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

VS did benefit from -recharge from Endurance Modification sets. I did a test and the -recharge really increased VS' damage a lot. Of course now all the -recharge in pets are gone.... T_T
I've made several suggestions before on VS. I think they should give VS another attack that recharges in 10s. Electricity Blast should have that "chain of lightning" effect. Too bad it was created before Electricity Melee was created. VS could use a chain of lightning attack just like Chain Induction.

My original main back in I-1 was an Elec/Elec, who went E3 when they eventually
added app/patron pools to the game.
I still play him today, 7 years later.
I also have a Fire/Nrg Blaster that I currently play.
They behave *very* differently.
That said, I enjoy both of them a lot, and either of them can handle any content
I choose to play, very effectively - though *how* they do that is radically different
between them...
The E3 is lighter on DPS, but a lot heavier on Control. He doesn't kill stuff as
quickly, but he can fully lock down an EB or Boss. He effectively prevents mobs
from participating in the battle until he gets around to killing them.
In some ways, it takes more skill to play him well, because he kills things slower,
so aggro management is more important. Regarding End Drain, it's a very effective
playstyle *if* you stay on top of it. It needs to be micromanaged to work
well.
I run this guy on the SSAs, and even exemped down to L20 (no Power Sink),
he can still drain the Boss in mission 1 with Short Circuit and his other attacks.
He just can't do it immediately.
On the other hand, he *can* hold him indefinitely, so it's no problem either way.
My E3 really plays a lot more like a Blastroller. He kills the first guy outright with the
snipe, kills a minion with his T1 attacks, locks down the Boss with his holds and
then drains the lot of them... It's a very safe playstyle if you're on top of it.
On teams, since aggro is usually managed already (by Tank, Brute, what have you),
he'll open up with SC & PS, which drains nearly everyone. Then he'll use his
holds and attacks to selectively eliminate targets.
As for Tesla Cage - don't change a thing... It's one of my most used, and effective
powers, and I absolutely love the Cage graphic...
Sparky, I'd rather he were a proper pet, or yeah, you could dump that entirely
and give me another blast attack... But leave Tesla Cage alone!
The Fire/NRG on the other hand is a much more "true" Blaster. He burns stuff
down before it kills him, pure and simple. He has one hold, and he really only
uses that on runners.
He pumps out enough Damage to kill quickly, and he has capped Ranged Defense to
weather any return attacks. The Energy secondary is useful for handling any mobs
that get within melee range. Bonesmasher, Energy Punch, and Power Thrust, eliminate
those threats or bounce them back out of melee range where they'll quickly
be toasted.
The E3 uses his controls to manage aggro and thrive. The Fire/NRG uses his
ranged defense and DPS to eliminate threats fast enough to thrive.
Both are excellent sets.
The "performance" catergorization is purely arbitrary and solely based on what
you, the player, prioritize as important. For me, it isn't *always* pure DPS.
YMMV

Electric blast is a fun set. Drain builds work well to solo. other builds do not work well to solo, at least, not once you get to around lvl 30-ish. The lack of concentrated dmg makes it annoying unless you play your blaster like a controller.
there are two things i think elec blast should get a pass at, both mentioned in this thread.
1. tesla cage. there are two other hold powers, abysal gaze and Bitter freeze ray, that are similar to tesla cage. These 3 powers should get a look IMO.
Tesla cage: 6.86 endo, 10 sec rech, 60 foot range. Chump dmg. Cast 2.17, 8 sec duration
Abysal gaze: 7.8 endo, 20 sec rech, 70 foot range. 9x the dmg of tesla cage. Cast:1.67 9.54 duration
bitter freeze ray: 15.18 endo(LOLWUT?) 20 sec rech, 80 foot range. 9x dmg of tesla cage.
cast 2.5 sec, 18 sec duration
So, we have tesla cage that apparently gives up both range and any type of dmg for a fast recharge time(comparitively) On the other end of the spectrum, we have bitter freeze ray that costs a lot of endo, but then gets a long duration, good dmg, and also(unlisted here) some -KB and slow effect. Abysal gaze is in the middle, faster cast, longer rech then tesla cage, but then gets good dmg.
IMO, abysal gaze should be the model for all 3 of these. the rech vs duration makes it possible to stack if you build for it(though only briefly) the animation is nice, and the power gets enough dmg that it doesnt feel like you have to give up dmg output totally to gain a little survivability. I adore this power on my dark/nrg blaster. Bitter ice blast is a little too steep in cost and animation time IMO; while justified, i think the power would be a little more useful and fun if it was a little less expensive with a shorter duration to go with it.(and shorten the animation by .25 sec)
tesla cage= fail, IMO. It is a hold which is indeed useful, but it is totally overshadowed by it's stablemates.
All this power really needs is to do dmg on par with Abysal gaze and BFR. This would both shore up elec blast dmg, and make the power much more useful(eliminate the "dmg or survivability" debate) There is no logical reason why tesla Cage should be the odd man out like it is.
The other power that was mentioned is VS. VS should get a new model(ZOMG my pet is just a stupid persistent ball lightning!!) and should be made more of a pet. Give it more powers. IMO, it should be able to fire off it's own tesla cage(non dmg type like we have would be ok) so that if you are observant, you can adapt and stack your own with it. it should also get some type of aoe. Static discharge comes to mind. i think giving it lightning field would also be nice. None of these add ons would be overpowered IMO, but would make VS feel more like a fleshed out pet, give it some variety so it is actually interesting, and for the love of Pete give VS a freegin model that doesnt look like some intern's last minute afterthought that got stuck on there the day before launch.
Anyway, that is my thought on Elec blast for blasters.

Sparky would be nice if it behaved like other pets in the game. Buffable, targetable, didn't dump all the argo it generated onto the character using it. It would be a much better pet if it simply behaved like a pet. Then Elec would trade potential survival for additional burst damage and with a quick recharge Sparky could be up as soon as it was destroyed.
Elec blast really suffers from the dot effect of short circuit and Ball Lightning, in area attacks. No matter how fast you recharge those powers the duration to do its actual damage never changes so there is a lot of wasted damage as the target is already dead but doesn't know it yet. Its made worse because you just don't have the time to wait until your target is dead so you have to shoot them again while the dot is still ongoing and waste an attack. This especially happens often on a team situtation, its not you wasting the attack but a team member that is wasting their attacks. That is not unique to Elec blast but to long duration Dot Effects in general.
Elec/Fire yes it has great damage on paper. In reality the damage is hindered not only by the dot effect, but it is also hindered by the animation times of the attacks themselves. Combust, Short Circuit, Fire Sword Circle, and Ball lightning take about 10 seconds to fire off, this is not including the time it takes for the DOT damage to play out. Other sets will easily outstrip your damage in the same amount of time. I have a level 50 elec/fire/elec and elec/fire/Fire on the other build. Late game the only thing it was really great at was AE farming as I can use insp to cap well everything.. you just don't do enough ranged damage otherwise and have such slowly animating powers that you end up using Charged Bolt, Lightning Bolt and Ball Lightning the majority of the time on a team. Good on paper not so good in reality. The higher in level you get the worse the overall build becomes.. it is nice in the low levels though but by 30 it really starts to show its weaknesses and flaws and in the 40's becomes an interesting means to kill yourself as you blow yourself up wiping out that group of nemesis robots..
I like elec, I think it has some serious flaws which are shared with other sets ingeneral (dot damage, low damage mez, pet that is not a pet, animation times ect), but it can still be a fun set and is a great concept set. Short Circuit is also one of the cooler looking powers in the game as well.
