NCSoft Launcher only launches CoH once, freezes the next time
Okay, currently NOT seeing this on my end.
Just took these while testing after seeing this thread.
Have you run a check on the files.
You've made sure that "Allow multiple instances of a game to be launched" has been checked right?
Sorry if it's a dumb question for you. Just trying to help by going with the easiest stuff first.
If it IS, try unchecking it, closing down, restarting the launcher, and re-checking it. It's possible your settings got scrambled in an update and it just needs to be cleared and re-entered.
Also, if you can provide CoH Helper and HJT logs... (But you KNEW I was gonna ask for those right?)
Hmmm. At least on my side, it's not a matter of trying to run multiple instances at the same time; it's a matter of running multiple instances consecutively.
My husband can open the game, play, quit to desktop, wait 12 hours, open the game again. I have to manually (through Ctrl+Alt+Del) kill the NCSoft launcher before I can launch the game again. Otherwise it simply hangs, with an un-drawn GUI.
Interestingly, sometimes after killing the launcher, if I click the up arrow in the taskbar to show all of my system tray, I see multiple NCSoft icons, which disappear as I hover over them.
I'm new-ish. Again.
@Kahzi. Pinnacle, mostly.
I'm having the same issue.
It only started doing it about a week or so ago.
I can load multiple instances no problem, but the minute I close/min to tool bar the launcher, it stops functioning properly. Until I completely kill it.
"I saw my advantage and took it. That's what heroes do." - Homer Simpson.
Ooh, maybe that's the connection then - because I've been letting mine load in the background as a systray thing. I'll try manually opening the launcher and keeping it open; hubby has been doing so, so maybe that's the difference between us...

I find that the NCSoft Launcher is only good for one launch of the game. If I try to launch it a second time, it doesn't quite fill in the "loading game" window on the screen and I finally have to kill it from Task Manager and re-run the CoH shortcut.
Not sure if it's related, but sometimes if I kill the NCSoft Launcher by right-clicking its icon and choosing exit, when I run CoH again I get the following unhandled exception. Would appreciate any possible technical advice.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
