New market items housing and enhancements
Personal apartments have been asked for many times, though I don't know why you'd have to tie it to the market. Sure, it might make them money, but since this has been asked for for so long, why not give it to people instead of making them buy it (at least for VIPs)?
As for buying enhancement slots on the market? I really hope that the Devs NEVER do this. The balancing would be a nightmare, and at that point you're basically telling people that they can buy extra power, which isn't a great idea. You'd get (more) issues with Power Creep, where you'd need to develop content that would challenge people with both the normal amount of slots and the people who have bought as many slots as they can fit on the character. The power disparity between those two groups could be huge, depending on the sets involved.

I see your point on enhancements, the reason for housing on the market is simply to develop it costs money, if it has a return on investment for ncsoft it would likely have far more success of being added. Due to its popularity the return is highly likely for any development time used to make it. In addition as it is likely to be popular its development and potential sales would add a profit margin that would allow for development of more content down the road. Perhaps some special usable items could be vip only but the actual apartment should be purchasable by all to get the return on investment. I as a VIP would have no issues forking the market cost out for this.
Player housing won't happen any time soon and it has nothing to do with the amount of dev time required to implement it. Personal housing puts a *massive* load on the servers (potentially thousands of new instances) that serves no purpose other than as a vanity item.
Buying enhancement slots would be hugely unbalancing (and set a horrible Pay-to-win precedent), not to mention the fact that the last time they tried adding extra slots (i21 Beta) it horribly crippled the build of any character who claimed them.

Being that many things in the game are truly vanity costume pieces are a huge example, I realize that a load issue but more to point out vanity is prevelant in many aspects of teh game. That being said it shouldn't be sluffed off due to instance issues those issues in themselves should be addressed. I still firmly stand behind the housing suggestion as a viable and profitable addition to the game.

I have no doubt that if the devs could find an easy way to run thousands of player house instances without a significant impact on performance then they would do so, but to my knowledge it is not something that is high on their priority list at the moment.

It's not simply that they're vanity items, it's that they're vanity items that - at best - one or two players will ever see and they put a substantial load on the servers. Costumes, auras and the like do not have that issue.

But I also acknowledge the fact that the Devs might now choose to pursue it anyway because the expected income/profit from selling the player housing components via the Paragon Market might be worth their while enough to overcome the obstacles to it. Basically if the Devs can be convinced that they'd make enough money from it I'm reasonably sure they'd do whatever they'd need to do to the servers to support that extra load.

Market Suggestions:
1) Player Housing
Player housing would be a great market opportunity I suggest as follows but leave open for modifications. First housing would be a tiered level thing suggested as follows.
Bachelor Pad (1 room) market price 100 able to hold following special type items explained below 1 wall safe, 1 safe, 1 teleporter
Apartment (2 room) market price 200 able to hold following special type items explained below 1 wall safe, 2 safes, 1 teleporter
Large Apartment (3 room) market price 300 able to hold following special type items explained below 1 wall safe, 3 safes, 1 teleporter

Penthouse Apartment (4 room, 1 patio) Market price 600 able to hold following special type items explained below 1 wall safe, 6 safes, 1 teleporter
All housing can hold 1 invention table usable by residents and visitors and one closet(tailor access) usable by residents
Special type items purchased with influence/infamy/information
Wall safe: allows vault access to residents and visitors
Safe: this is a personal storage that can hold 99 enhancements and a equal amount of salvage that the primary home owner( explained below) has. Usable by only residents
Teleporter: this teleporter pad has access to all zones that the primary home owner has achieved all exploration badges in, it is important to note in cases of rogues and vigilantes though the tper will open all zones up only those zones your allowed to enter will be selectable when using, this tper works for residents and visitors.
Primary resident: The character which purchases the housing is the primary resident, you can opt to share residence with other characters under your global handle that are on the same server.
Each zone will have a building for player housing the view out of the windows or off the balcony will be reflective of the zone a character chooses, each building will have display models of the apartment choices allowing a player to view the potential apartments before making a decision. Your apartment is zone specific so you must go to the zone of your apartment to enter the residence.
Mail box: people can leave you messages, inf, enhancemenst or salvage in yoru mail box if they so choose.
Visitors: you can set visitor permissions to allow only residents, allow sg members, allow friends, allow team mates, allow everyone.
Suggestions for items to be place able in the home obviously more furniture options, your veteran items at no cost, statues, fountains etc.
2) Enhancement slots: market cost 80 each, this allows your to purchase additional slots for enhancement purposes only claimable on a level 50 character. This is a sound investment option allow characters to add power to there performance at the high end game.
