4. Show them how to use the Map. That way, you've demonstrated a key asset to them, and they leave you.
This weekend I had an odd experience. Heres what happened I was in Atlas Park talking to a friend, and a person came up and asked where Perez Park was. Ordinarily not a problem ,but this toon was level 50. And it happened three times with three different toons three different globals. I finally asked how they got a 50 and they said ran sewer trial 3 days in a row.
I know people have aright to spend their time anyway they want, but I have to ask is this productive for the game. I think they could be three solutions for this "problem" before posi blows a gasket and calls us exploiters again.. 1 no xp after level 10 in sewer trial... 2 more trials like sewer trial for higher levels 3 making the trial harder This is just off top of my head.if anyone has different solution please add to this thread. |

I'm surprised nobody here pointed this out.
Maybe they never went to Perez while leveling? Y'know how easy it is to skip Perez? Really f'ing easy since Hollows and later the Cape Mission revision. I've rolled five characters leveled to 20 since the Cape revision. Number that have visited Perez? Zero. Unless I do the Midnight Club missions, I only go to Perez for the Numina TF.
Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome.

While the OP may be overreacting, he didn't jump to conclusions about this particular player.

I sat back and watched some one RP berate the constant sewers teams for a good 2 hours a couple of days ago. It took me a bit to realise what really pee-d me off about this behavior.
They were cajoling the sewer teams to get out and Fight the Good Fight. To Go Save the Innocents from Evil!!....re-iterating at intervals that there was so much more to see then Atlas Park and its sewers...
2+ hours of this??....
Whilst this person was taking time out from fighting crime and saving the planet, it was kinda funny that they spent said time trying to stop other hero's from fighting off the never ending sewer invasion right under Atlas Park...
I entered conversation with this person, and they insisted that these players were wasting their time, that such players would never understand the intricacies of the greater game. And whilst for the most part I can agree, that anyone who only runs the sewers is missing out on a great deal, its possible to say that, most of the people who play for longer then a week will indeed do more then run sewers, many will join missions teams or get into the odd TF.
The fact is, for me, that most people want to see an appreciable experience gain/minute. That if you don't offer them an alternative, they will take the path of least resistance.
When i said as much to this person, I was told to shush.... repeatedly.....in partial caps.
It seemed that they preferred berating players for perceived bad form, then actually helping them to find good form.
Experienced players aside, as they will have a game plan, how new players play and learn a game, is a combination of get go and peer influence.
Don't sit around telling people how to play ... show them what it is you want them to see.
