Aiming cones
cones how they are in game require a target to fire off and aim at said target
your asking for the option to fire them off at will like a PBAOE, which i could see is ok in some circumstances, but i personally like having a target to aim at, i know i may not get it perfect everytime but at least it still hit something instead of firing it off and then everything just happens to move out of where you were throwing it which has happened to me while using PBAOEs
When using cones I tend to aim for the enemy at the back of my target area. So i know that all of the enemies in front of him will get nailed. This tactic is really helpful because I can move my character to make the cone optimal. Even if he isn't in an optimal location.
I tend to use the "shark circle" technique since i'm an NRG/NRG. Yes i know i'm on of THOSE kb happy players. :3
I love me a cone, seriously. Lots of fun. However,....aiming them. There is nothing like having a hardened boss in the exact right spot with teeming minions on each side, front and back. A neverending chain of cones melting everything around them, while whittling away at the health meter. But when that is not the case, the boss is off center, or the alignment is just off enough (due to walls etc) to where you know its way un-optimal to throw it. I hates that. Worse, chaining cones on a Lt and somebody (evil teammates) blast them. Your next cone goes to some lonely minion off to your left. Argh! The freaking worst.
2 questions. 1) Is there a way to just align the danged things based on character orientation? 2) Is there a way to get the Devs to align the things based on character orientation?
Seriously, this is my only problem with cones, other than that, my very very favorite blaster atack. (I really don't like Blapping... Having run Brutes for years I just dont wanna be in the moshpit while that squishy. If I did, my Pimped SS/Fire/Mu Brute is a ghetto PBAoE blaster that cannot die, and if he does he explodes and comes back atcha)
