SS/ Fire / Fire
Glad to hear you're having fun. SS/Fire is an amazing combo, very potent and pretty much good at everything.
I rebuilt my SS/FA/Soul and decided to move things around to get him to the S/L softcap and it made a huge difference. He's still an endurance hog, but been consume and ageless it really hasn't been a problem.
However, if I don't pay attention well enough I can manage to detoggle myself which leads to all sorts of badness. I've only had it happen a couple of times, but I'm sure more vigilance will change that issue.

Interesting you should say that because Im still thinking about the alpha end seems to be becoming a issue a little I imagine in a big st fight it could ground my toon out.

Edit: also what are your thoughts with respect to soul vs fire epics fire ball and blast and melt seem to chew through most things for me. Alot of toons are preaching mu as well I really have to look at them in more detail before deciding on a definative build.
Any thoughts on this would be muchly appreciated

Well, for my build I went with soul to pick up gloom for more ST damage. Gloom just does incredible damage when fighting AV's and GMs. I also picked up obliteration and slotted it for hit debuff rather than damage for added survivability. It's probably a more unorthodox approach, but obliteration adds to my AoE damage while adding to my survivability.

It really all depends on what you want to use your SS/FA brute for. I like to use mine for pretty much everything, so I tried to balance him in such a way where he could have a good ST and AoE chain and still have good defenses.
If I just wanted to go pure farm, I'd have ignored my ST attacks, picked up fireball and relied more on insp to shore up any holes in my defenses.

I made a ss fire brute and soloed him to 50 in about 20 hours or so, I had this toon at 50 for a little while as a pure farm build I didnt even get around to slotting single target attacks, I think I had the lotgs and a couple of cheap sets, health end all sos, the actual single attacks were still empty. The toon had been like this for a couple of months. I tried him on an incarnate mission and as you can well imagine he didnt do very well. So I sent him to live out his time in ae.
Any who last night I decided to have another look I respected him into a close approximation of one of the builds posted on these boards and put a couple of recipes in, nothing special at this stage and so,s for the remainder.
I went to the incarnate missions set at 0 x8 just as a test and WOW I mean didnt know there was could be that much WOW.
I feel like Im constantly on a knife edge about to die but nothing seems to last long enough to kill me. I even wandered into RWZ and with a couple of small purple inspirations cleaned out a 54 spawn in about 50 seconds. I actually find the toon does better when double spawns are agroed, where other toon tend to get into trouble this one seems to shine.
The more you kill the more inspirations you get its ..its .it just is.
And to think this is with a very incomplete build lacking recharge and defence due to no recipes. I cant wait to see this toon in action with a few purple sets under the belt and an alpha
