Anyways. This isn't a question of "OMGZ, I R TEH SUXXORZ?!?!"
It's more a question of, "How much faster has the game gotten while I was away playing WoW?" I sought a definitive answer to this, because I was tired of the generalizations being thrown around in Radio Virtue, so I threw down a data point to get some idea on where everything else is relative. And since I believe I lots of data points, I've come here to get second opinions. (Why no, I'm not in denial at *all*.)

Can you post your Mid's build, if you have one? I just made a dark/dark defender today, and that video was awesome...

This. My dark/dark just hit 32, and while I admit I'm nowhere near the best at playing one, I'm constantly impressed by the sheer power of its swiss army knife mentality. There's almost always something I can use to accomplish every task, and walk out pretty much unscathed.

Absolutely. I often tank with my Dark def. She's a dark/elec, so pitiful damage, but add in the sapper tools, and she's usually more effective than the party tank at lvl 20s-30s.. Even in the 40s she's not bad as a secondary tank.
And she was doing this even while leveling up with mostly SOs. It's a little bit skill, some slotting, but mostly just how effective Dark/x can be. /Dark corrs are similar, but the enhanced Defender numbers make a noticeable difference, in my experience.. Dark paired with most anything and Dark will be the stronger set. In my experince. So, do you want the enhancement to your stronger set (def) or your weaker set (corr). I find maximizing my strengths to be usually better than minimizing my weaknesses (weaker-neasses?? perhaps? Not like any of the blast sets is all that weak). Until recently, the best reason for a Dark Corr in my opinion was that corrs could make use of the awesome Fire Blast set. Now, defs can play with fire, too.
Hmm. Maybe I should make a dark/fire def to compare to my Fire/Dark Corr. OK. I'm out to hit the alt creator. See ya in the game..

The game plays at a much faster rate than it used to. Between the various efforts to get Permahasten, SR shenanigans, LotG stacking, and other avenues that I am not privy to, the game plays much faster than it did say, even a year or two ago. (Elec shenanigans? No idea what that's about.)
But tell me, ye who hath never strayed from the path and gone to play That Really Big MMO. Surely *this* can't be considered to be "taking an eternity" to solo?
