So turn the power that makes things untargetable into a foe-targeted toggle?

Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

I am not one of them, but...

WP is nice because it's easy. Set it and forget it.

A layered defense is less likely to have some sort of cascading failure or some sort of mob that just does them in by exploiting the set's weakness.
So WP is decent in several aspects which leads to it being pretty good in general.
Even though the def and res numbers are higher for other sets, the regen and HP of WP allow it to make up for that deficit. The regeneration helps against all damage types.

Once you start adding IO bonuses, having all that HP and regen underneath really, really makes a difference.
Softcap is great. Softcap w/ awesome regen is even better.

Exactly, but completely different!

I heard there was some technical reason they can't turn foe-targeted intanglibility into a toggle. But keeping it the way it is is just silly. It's like there being a power that heals your teammates 100% but stuns everyone for one minute while summoning Lord Recluse until the stun wears off. Regardless of how "unique" it sounds, it's just terrible.

Anyways, heading off topic while beating a dead horse here. To keep this on topic: You can solo beating a dead horse with any AT. Even gravity.

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

Too true about going sideways. To me the best AT for soloing the game is a Brute SS/Invul. The real challenge there is in endurance management. As a Brute you need to keep attacking allatime, but with that build you want to keep rest periods. The KO Blow comes in at level 8, really sweet. No AoE until 32, but when it comes in, it comes in BIG. Everyone is jealous of Footstomp (and you all know it!) There is of course the Psi hole, which is only filled with buckets of green inspirations it seems. And Invul's tier 9...well, lets not go there. I still hold out the hope they tweak it. sigh. Very little, but some. But in general the SS/Inv Brute drives like a Semi-Truck. Not completely ignoring stuff like a true Tank, but once you get momentum behind you whatever is getting in your way is gonna be really really sorry. Also, i remember once getting onto a high level team that was just grinding with my 28 SS/Invul (only SO'd) We were on the third really hard mish when the lead tank said to me "I just realized you were only playing a 28! You're doing great." With Rage increasing accuracy, and the layered protections od def/res/health it is just a joy to drive right outta the box.

I'v played a few Gravity trollers and I'm not sure where you all are getting the "not enough control" from.. never found it hard to lock down mobs, or to mob them up for AoE with wormhole (and telling ppl with a macro you are going to use wormhole and to where you are going to TP the mob helps every one).

Other than Dimenshion shift I don't have any thing bad to say about gravity. Oh and remeber sigy is a mini troller also.
