Do you keep GR stuff if you buy the VIP Starter Kit?
Yes, you'll get to retain access to the power sets and alignment system, plus access to the first 3 praetorian zones. However, he won't be able to use Demon Summoning unless he buys Masterminds from the store.
Or Electrical Control on Controllers (but it's still available for Dominators since they're not premium archetypes).
Like Diggis said, he won't keep the Praetorian zone First Ward (which he'll get access to during his VIP month for free, but will lose access to when he goes premium -- First Ward content can be purchased on the market if he really wants to keep it -- it's pretty awesome stuff)

Okay so, one of my buddies started playing this game after it went F2P, and he's now interested in spending some money on it to get some more goodies to play with.
So we're looking at the VIP Starter Kit and he asked me if you get to keep all the Going Rogue stuff like the alignment system and power sets if your sub runs out if you bought the VIP Starter Kit. My question is, does he? While I'm pretty sure you'll get to keep the alignment system etc if your sub lapses after you buy the Starter Kit I don't exactly want him to spend money on something he thinks he'll get to keep forever and it turns out it'll only be for one month. |

I'd look up a copy of GR on amazon or such
Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

What Snow Globe said. The VIP Starter Kit gives you nothing but a VIP month, as I understand it. My guess as to why it exists is for advertising purposes and because during the head start it was the only way to create a new account.
Noxilicious, assuming your friend wants to continue to play Premium and just wants more features, I'd recommend buying $15 worth of Paragon Points instead. That would bring him to Tier 2, with one extra token to slot for some extra goodies, and 1320 PP to spend on stuff.

You have a point, Snow Globe. I'd say that it depends on the player's experience and what he wants to do. VIP status has many different aspects, but several won't appeal to players without high level characters. On the other hand, it's possible to get altitis early on, and just the ability to play around with a multitude of character slots and the extra powersets available can make a VIP month attractive. While I personally see buying $15 worth of PP as a better deal, my feeling may be skewed by the fact that I already subscribed for several years in the past, and passed through the creation of quite a few forgettable characters.
