Human Form Warshade: Soloing a level 53 AV

AIB

Posted

The 'brag book' thread is pretty dead, but I would want my own thread for this anyways.

I used the AE Arc created by @AIB, Warshade Heaven, and soloed Bobcat as a level 53 Arch-Villain. I did not use any sort of pets, including Lore pets, and I did not use Incarnate/special inspirations or temp powers (That means no envenomed daggers.) I also did not use Judgement.

I did have t4 Reactive Interface and t4 Spiritual Alpha, which means I was 50+1 soloing an AV 2 levels higher than me. I also used my t3 Barrier, and Demonic Aura.

I went in with an inspiration tray full of small purples only, and used what dropped as I felt it was appropriate.

This is the build I used, and the one I use on live:

I don't know if it makes a difference to the general population, but I just confirmed that the enemy group on the mission I used have a defense debuff, which would explain my need for Barrier/Demonic Aura/Purple Inspirations. I'm sure that I could still solo a level 53 AV without any of the above if the enemies didn't debuff me. They were able to stack my 35% s/l defense down to -20 and beyond on x8, which is the setting I used for the mission.

So what is the main advantage of having Human form over other form in soloing this sort of mission? Is it the buff/heal granted by mass # of enemies when you use draining abilities?

1.) Consistent DPS - Shapeshifting costs time. Time costs DPS.
2.) More slots - You have more ways to get the defense bonuses you'd need to really skyrocket survivability.

Hm, that's one thing I haven't thought about. So Forms have more dos or survival but Human form allow you to dps and survive?

In that case, is it possible to play multiple roles like a shapeshifting Kheldian just by being in Human form?

What you'll be missing most is the burst damage, particularly burst AoE. Generally, a Nova only needs three AoEs to wipe up a spawn, so consistent DPS is never a factor for consideration.

I don't think they can do it as well. Dwarf Antagonize is many times stronger than Provoke can ever be, plus it is autohit. Nova form has AoE damage powers for every spawn. A human only shade will also be more likely to rely on things like Clarion or Break Frees.

If you are exemplaring to levels below Eclipse, then in my mind a tri-former is hands down the better pick.

Can Dwar/Nova forms use Incarnate powers?

I am personally seeing a less than 15 second difference in my times clearing a 54x8 farm on my Human Form Build vs. my previous Tri Form build.

Yeah the Dwarf Taunt is better but I still find Human Form is better at managing aggro because of the Damage Aura and the ability to keep everything around it stunned at all times (via Inky Aspect.) I find my Human Form build a better tank than my Dwarf was.

This is just my personal experience... Granted, though, I don't feel Human Form is any more reliable on Break Free's in certain situations than Tri Form is reliant on purple inspirations in other situations- We can't kill things if we're stunned, you can't kill things if you're dead.

This, hands down. If you're going to exemp below Eclipse levels Tri Form is the way to go. If you're going to go less than "all out" on your build, I would also say Tri form is the way to go.

Wicked! Kheldians are by far one of the most dynamic AT's to play. Living prove for any non-believers what a shade is capable of. Taking screenshots while all the carnage is going on isn't an easy feat either.

Not sure if this is the same archetype as one of your other post: I remember you mentioned you have to devour blue inspirations when you play this kind of spec?

That was on an original draft of my build which has since been changed. No end issues now.

Sweet.

I suppose that you need not keep your damage capped with the superior DPS human attack chain.

Very nice job.

Gotcha. Where did you post your most recent build?

Noticed your three Leadership abilities, are they necessary?

In the first post in this thread, on the bottom.

And yeah, I like having them. Maneuvers is contributing to my Defense numbers, and it takes an LOTG 7.5% enhancement. Tactics is two slotted with recticle's for an s/l bonus, and Vengeance not only takes an LOTG 7.5% but also allows me to softcap my defense to all damage whenever a teammate dies.

Fantastic work THB, I was looking for a new experience and this looks like my next adventure in CoH.

Out of curiosity, is this the same build you run for missions or is this an AV specific build?

Thanks in advance for any insight and well done again.

Seriously impressive. I've wanted to revisit a Kheldian toon for a while on a human-only build. I deleted both my PB and WS in their early 40's due to the lack of dmg and survivability...now I'm wishing I would have stuck with it to see the end result.

THB - Do you have any other videos of your toon in action? +2x8 Malta/Longbow/Carnies/Arachnos/etc? Curious how it does with mob types with a wider variety of tricks.

Does anyone think something like this would be possible on a PB?

My reply to this question 2 months ago would be "lolPBs."

Now, though, the answer is "I wouldn't be too surprised."

That's a lot of endurance drain if all turned on O_O What is your endurance usage (passive abilities) and endurance gain, #wise? I use Performance Shifter and three End Mod on almost all my characters and still have trouble with endurance rapid firing skills + passives. Human Form Kehldian seems to have even more passives to worry about.

My endurance use on my warshade is hard to quantify, but my endurance gain is something like "Full bar every 12 seconds."

I'm seeing lots of questions that could be answered by just looking at my build (in the OP) which a lot of you seem to be missing, so here it is again.

-No this is not a "just for AV's" build. This is my build, period.

I wish I did, but as you might be able to infer from my screenshots my computer isn't the greatest (for lack of better words.) I've tried making videos many times, and it lagged me so badly I couldn't play.

However I can take down 54x8 Malta with bosses turned on, provided I get to the Sappers quickly enough.

Arachnos are doable on the same setting, but it's not something I can do every time I try- If there's more than one Mu boss in a group (not surprising) on top of a couple of Tarantula Mistresses it's hard to keep everything stunned before I can kill it. Granted I have taken out groups of 54x8 Arachnos, but some group arrangements do me in.

Question:

Does your build function without all the purples or is it really purple dependent?

Also would it level well or is it really an end game build only?
