Which is the better stealth power?
Ah, fair enough Gate, I guess I just assumed snipers ignored stealth since my main exposure to them is nemesis snipers on nemesis missions and being more than 84 feet away from them at all times is not often an option when you need to run all the way to the end of the mission. At the very least you could say that nobody but a pvp-specced stalker is going to be rubbing shoulders with them undetected.

(as an aside, all of the perception and stealth numbers I've been using are PvE. Totally diff numbers in lolpvp.)

I don't know what Rikti Drones' Perception is, but their Perception is not affected by Stealth. So your Stealth value does NOT lower their Perception. Knives of Artemis and some Rularuu are the same way.

To add to the fun, there are also the Longbow Eagles and members of the Cabal who have the [Positioning] power which acts like an attack. It's purpose is to keep the critter at a distance from you, but if you get within range of the power (melee range, I believe), your stealth drops as if you were attacked.

I thought the stealth of SS only applied while moving? Or that was changed long long time ago, into also while standing still?
For my /device i have the Celeberty stealth IO on sprint, trying to lay down mines in a Council cave while moving with SS.. thats not really working well.

No need to be moving, toe bomb away!
Just out of curiousity, under what circumstances would you not want stealth in your travel power?
|
If you put it in Swift, then you ALWAYS have some stealth running. (I tend to put a flight speed enhancement here.)
|
But if you put it in Sprint, then you have to run two or three powers to get the most stealth. Super Speed, Sprint, and possibly another travel power. The endurance costs add up, and for some builds it might be too much.

The IO and SS should be enough for most everything.

Tomax says about phase shift:
+0.75s Phased, Phased, Intangible (mag 3)
That would imply that basicly it is a self buff of the gravity or FF ability, but if you ever get affected by that, you cant do anything at all.
That seems different then a 'affect self' debuff
+0.75s OnlyAffectsSelf (mag 100)
such as Personal forcefield has.
I go give it a try tonight
