1. What is the HP cap. (numbers no definition) :P

2. Are Brutes really any good for PVP? (1v1)

3. If I can sustain a soft capped def in pvp, is it worth it? (with everything else in order first of course)

4. What is the best way to keep a high damage bonus, without insps?

That is all I can come up with for now. I will post more if they come to me...lol

Anything with DP and enough +rech can do it everynow and then. They wont get that in PvP because of DR tho i would think.

In PvP is all about dmg and having moderate survivablity (or staying out of range).

And def is almost completely useless. People are likely running with higher tohit than 50% because of build ups, tactics, kismet, etc. Then they have crazy hi acc, so even IF you had some 45% def and they had 50% tohit they would likely still hit you AT LEAST 10% of the time rather than 5%

It sounds like you're looking for a fiteklub (no insps, toe-to-toe, no movement) build. A Brute can be adequate at that, but you couldn't make me drag one into any other type of PVP. Seriously. They're completely gimped outside of that one very specific context, which is probably why that context exists at all.

I haven't seen too many successful defense-based PVP characters. Elusivity helps, but it's not enough. I wouldn't bother going down that road.

The best way to keep your damage up, without insps, would probably be to roll an SS/FA Brute (it's amazing how often they come up here...) and attack as much as possible. Fury, double-stacked Rage, and Fiery Embrace will all work to keep your damage up. Blazing Aura will keep a steady drain on your opponent's health bar, too. With enough recharge, Healing Flames should keep you alive. Go with the Soul Mastery Patron Pool for Gloom (great DPS) and Darkest Night (mainly for the -Damage). Not sure how fiteklubbers feel about KB, so you might not need much -KB to get by (~12pts), or you may need the typical PVP numbers (~42pts).

Yeah, Brutes and PvP don't really go together. Other than standing still fiteklubbing it's hard to maintain Fury to do any noticeable damage. At that point it's better used as a tauntbot and disruption. Tankers do that better while Scrappers do better damage.
