Unfortunately, I'm not at home to really look at numbers or test it out yet, but it just hit me and now I'm considering this. Beam Rifles/Dark Manipulation... Not sure about the PPP/APP to go with it. I love that Dark was made a secondary for Blasters. I feel like the boundless amounts of -tohit from Dark would add the already debuffing hits from Beams. I could easily be wrong. I'm curious. I like the idea of Mace Mastery or Cold Mastery, but I I hate the way that Frozen Armor looks. not a fan of blocky shields. lol. This is just a general power selection. Still figuring things out. Pretty much doing this manually.

I too have a Beams/DM, and it appears that we are a rare breed. I took the combo for two skills, Soul Drain and in particular Dark Pit, which I see you neglected. Dark Pit is probably the most important part of this combo, because it lets you stack mag with Lancer Shot and Overcharge. I would NOT neglect taking this skill as it is pretty much the only reason to go Beams/DM in my opinion.

Soul Drain is a great skill, but I have found it to be most useful against AVs, where even against one or two targets, it offers the best boost to sustained DPS out of any build up power. It's also useful if you have solid control or buffs on a large team. Blasting with a 10 target Soul Drain gets silly.

Well, at least there are three of us. ;-)

I took this combo primarily for theme purposes but so far I like the synergy. Soul Drain has turned ambushes into a momentary distraction and Dark Consumption keeps the mission pace brisk with a constantly full blue bar. Soloing at higher levels has been a challenge for me with most sets other than Ice/Ice but I have hopes for this combo.

Add me to the list. I like dark - dark miasma, dark melee, dark armor - so I figured why not? Seriously though, the -tohit seems really nice with beams debuffs. Dark consumption, soul drain and dark pit are what I would call the "gotta have em" powers with beam. Of course that's my perception right now, the higher I get, I may change my mind.
