VEAT crashes tailor screen.

My Level 26 Crab Spider currently has two costumes that crash the tailor screen.

His first costume, the Arachnos Armour one, does not. His second costume, unlocked at level 10, crashes the costume screen on switching from the body screen to the costume screen. His third costume, unlocked at level 20, does not crash the costume screen. His fourth costume, Global Slot 6, is based on the Level 10 one, and crashes the costume screen.

This is rather annoying, because it means 2 out of four costume slots refuse to work.

If I change the character to female, I can go into the costume screen. If I go back and try to change to male, it crashes again.

I've had a ticket for this for a few days.

As of this evening here are the last 2 tickets from the NCSoft gurus of computery goodness:

I thought I'd try to get around this by changing Slot 2's costume to female, then rebuilding it from scratch. Instead it just gave slot 2 messed up proportions, including razor thin hands and boots that clip through legs, as if the male and female bodies had somehow spliced together.

EDIT: I think I have a temp solution.

1: Go to the tailor and select your first, Arachnos costume as the one to change.
2: Go through the tailor screen changing nothing and finish up.
3: Go to the tailor and select the costume you want to change.

It doesn't seem to work if you change Costume without going through the tailor screen.

EDIT: Yeah, doing the above lead to me being able to change my character's costume, only if i went Crab Spider Arachnos Outfit > Through Tailor > Change to costume to edit > Tailor. Any attempt to go Arachnos Outfit > Outfit to change > tailor resulted in the game crashing when trying to display the model.

Doesn't affect my Arachnos Soldier, or my Arachnos Widow.

I am consistently having this problem as well. I only became aware of it after purchasing an additional global costume slot through the market, but hadn't tried to change a costume recently on my crab, so I can't say that that is a trigger.

I've a feeling that this bug has something to do with this that was mentioned on the i21 Bug Forum.

Have you tried visiting one of the Tailors that does gender alterations too?

I pretty much only go to the Surgeon tailors (mostly the tailor in Pocket D or RWZ), so that does not seem to be the problem. When I purchased costume slot 6, it made a copy of my second costume for that slot, as every time I've unlocked a new costume on my crab. I can freely switch costumes, I just can't freely alter the costumes in the tailor. (Again, the workaround posted by Zortel does work.)

The instant I try to alter a costume on my crab (other than the VEAT costume), my game completely crashes.
