Exalted name problem

I created a character with a certain name in the first few minutes after Exalted went live. Since I rushed to create the character, tonight I went to recreate it so that I could take advantage of the level pacts. I went all the way through the character creation process to the very end on my second account, then I deleted the character name on my first account. I typed in the name on my second account and I got the "Name is Available and Reserved" message, but when I try to enter the game, it tells me the name is already taken.

Thinking there needed to be a space of time between deletion and creation, I logged out with my fingers crossed, waited a few minutes, logged back in, went through the whole process again and had the same result - name shows as Available and Reserved, but then I can't get it.

I've even rebooted my computer and logged back in with the same result. Can two people have the same name reserved at the same time???

What's particularly odd is that between attempts to do this, I did the same exact thing with another character - deleted the character and recreated it with the same name, and I hand no problems at all.

I am going to be really disappointed if I lose this name.

I know that some names are locked from customer use, like Stateman, Positron, etc. This list also includes other comic book heroes, real life people, etc.

Is it possible that the name was not locked when Exalted opened up, but was later placed on the list? That might example why you had it but then couldn't create it again.

Not 100% sure on that, but figured it might be a good guess.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

I thought of that, but that's not it. I tried using it on one of the lower population servers and it let me create a character with that name, so it's not reserved.

I petitioned it, so we'll see. Even if I manage to get it back though, it looks like I won't be able to level pact it with its counterpart.

I have a name I tried to get on one account but it kept telling me it was taken. I logged into my other account and was able to grab it. Like you I've tried to delete the toon several times but I can't grab it on my main account.

I know there was a bug in beta whereby if you reserved a name you then couldn't create the character because the name was reserved, but that was supposed to have been fixed quite a few patches before it went live.

Well, that's just peachy. I logged in before the maintenance this morning and tried to snag the name again, but couldn't get it. I checked to see if it was assocated with a global name and it wasn't. Just now I tried to grab it from work and couldn't get it so I logged in and sure enough someone else grabbed it this morning.

Dammit.
