I do like the crit bonuses though. I think it's an idea that would go quite well with this concept.

Moderate Lethal Damage, Cone

Voila.

Fair enough.

Although that would mostly be for balance; most melee sets seem to have a cone at the very least in them.
Otherwise, fully agree with the ST-heavy suggestion

Updated the OP with a new draft.

Why would I, when I can post a TVtropes article, instead, and ruin lives by doing so?

*edit*
I also wonder if it's not possible to make the set's gimmick the ability to switch between forward and reverse grip and in so doing alter the entire set, like having one be faster but weaker while the other is stronger but slower or some such? Then again, having seen what Swap Ammo did to Dual Pistols, I'm not sure I want that.

That's why I avoided a Swap Ammo gimmick entirely.

Now, I don't mind ST heavy sets. That's just me. But listening to the forums, all you hear is "ST centered sets suck" so why would you want to create another one that's ST centers?

Even more so if it's one AOE is a cone!

Look how much people say "Martial Arts? Meh!" and it has a PBAOE.

-A teleporting attack? Really? Almost seems like that's added in just to make it different not to mention rushing in with a knife isn't the best use of it. A placate/hidden stab would be far more appropriate.

-Knives aren't very showy. In fact, that's how they're supposed to be. You'd be looking at a set that isn't going to appeal to many based on look and yet conceptually, it shouldn't be more effective than an actual sword in combat...so the set would look plain and it wouldn't appeal to power-gamers.

All in all, I'm not dissing a knife set. One of my main villains is a knife 'thrower' and this set may fit him better. But I'd prefer sets I can't already kinda-duplicate. Spines works as a knife throw/stab set too (if a heck of a lot slower) and be more effective at the same time.
On the showy ness aspect give it DP like animations and it becomes plenty showy imo
