My ebil, manipulative, marketeering ways
The market is so big that one person by themselves will probably not be able to change anything. |

I was power-levelling a couple of alts, so I was dumping 300-500 alchemical silvers a night a couple nights in the last week. I never once got a single sale under 25,555. I may have another go at this. I'm still pretty much viewing "turn everything into alchemical silver and dump" as a nice default use of tix. It's not super cost-effective, but I think it's fun, and maybe someday it'll have some kind of marginal impact.
Or not.
I'd love to see whether we could actually make a significant dent, but I am pretty sure at this point that the answer is in practice "no". Or rather, it's not if someone knows we're trying to do it and is trying to buy up the slack.
At some point ANYONE runs out of "Buy up the slack" room. It may take 12,000 alch silvers but it happens.
(you took 'em down from 150K to 25K, that's pretty huge.)

Well, in that case: I invite people to join me in continuing to dump alchemical silvers on the market so we can find out where that number is.

Dumped a couple hundred more, got 25,555 for pretty much all of them. Someone seems to have a ton of bids up in that range.
The 25,555 has been the floor since last weekend, I think. I saw it a lot and matched it to get the Alchemical Silvers for my memorization badges on my new characters.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
I see a lot of all-10-at-once at that price, so I'm guessing someone's stockpiling.

That would be hilarious.
and while we are here .... what's going on with lvl 50 Recharge IOs??
i am holding the bag on overstock .. the market is a cruel mistress
How odd someone accuses me of bringing market prices down too much. Typically, I get blamed for the inflation caused by farmers and people who play too much. As to why - because I can afford to, because the reaction of the market intrigues me, and because it is entertaining to do the opposite of what the uninformed think marketeers do.
And the best I could do if I went this route is to temporarily crash the price. When I floored the KB protection price, it was back to normal the next day, and the last few times I checked it was running higher volume and higher pricing than in the couple of weeks before I flooded that specific item. Even if I did spend a lot of time, inf, and energy in fulfilling all level 50 +rchg IO bids, the price would probably rebound within minutes, certainly within hours.
