On a beta with free points, its' not a problem. On live with paid-for points and no refunds? Problem.

Or when buying the extra storage expansions. You did notice how difficult it was to keep track of which ones you had already bought and which ones you still needed to buy? I know I did. I'm relatively certain I bought a few of them multiple times. Again, beta, free points, no problem. Live, paid-for points, no refunds, problem.

Feel free to continue your ravings about the mac players and my imaginary numbers. It sure does suck to be a minority in the community, this community especially. Reminds me of offline.
How about if you buy something and it doesn't show up...DON'T BUY IT AGAIN RIGHT AWAY? Seriously, if I bought something in the market and it didn't show in my email (or however it is to be delivered) after say 5-10 minutes, I'd contact support.. NOT mash the buy button like a kid on a sugar rush. Yes, they are show stopper bugs and there should be a stop in place- but only to prevent badc press/ill will from players that can't wait like a normal person and realize it isn't instant at times.

I'm basically in that same boat. I've never been much for melee in this game but I'm actually looking forward to giving Street Justice a serious try.

I oughta slap you with a frying pan.

Every time the mac community takes one step closer to having their issues fixed a comment like this sends them two steps back. If the tables were turned and the Windows client couldn't access the features in Beta without crashing to the desktop I would absolutely HATE to be a moderator here; all my time would be cleaning up whining, moaning and screaming about how the devs are useless and they don't care.

We've been at this for TWO DAMN YEARS trying to get our "supported" mac client fixed, so you can take your jokes and your "I think I'm funny when I make fun of macs" and SHOVE IT.
Wow, so trigger-happy-defensive. Good lord. Maybe with Steve Jobs out of the picture now, the fanboys can cool their heads.

Yes, thank goodness he has such debilitating pancreatic cancer.

I'm defensive for a reason, buddy. Every time someone from the Mac community says "Hey, could we get a fix? We're kind of being ignored over in the mac forums" some wiseguy has to make a post boiling down to "lol macs" or "just use windows" or some other ******** remark that turns the entire subject into a Mac vs. PC argument. It's sickening and in a community where people are almost always friendly and willing to help, the mac users and windows users interactions are the biggest disparity.

Imagine if you will, trying to tell your doctor you have a lump under your arm, and whenever you get to the word 'lump' his nurse opens the door and just goes "EEEWWWWW," laughs, then stares at you blankly. You have a legitimate problem and every time you try to talk to the one entity who may be able to help, someone else butts in and just has to open their mouth.

Fact: Macs are gaining market share. Fact: Macs are a supported platform by Paragon Studios. Someday, that might change, but today, it hasn't. Even if the Mac crashes were the only issue, it's a show-stopper. It's not going live, full stop, end of story.

I actually sold my Mac a couple of weeks ago, so now my OSes of choice are exclusively Windows and Linux, so I have no dog in this fight. Nevertheless, if they market the game to Mac users (and they do) and take the money of Mac users (and they do), it would be really scummy to all of a sudden tell them, "We're sorry, but you're SOL and can't play until some indeterminate point in the future." I don't care if the Mac community consists of 100 people or 100,000 people, that's just not how it's done.

Fortunately, I'm pretty durn confident that Paragon Studios knows this. Hopefully the "Bah, Mac users don't matter, just gimme my stuff" contingent posting here will get it, too. If not, then be mad for all I care. If you're passionate that they should discontinue support for the Mac, then that's something you'll have to take up with them at some point other than right at a major launch, and even as a recent non-Mac user, I don't mind saying that I hope your efforts go nowhere.

P.S. In case the poster I quoted above thinks I'm fussing at you, I agree with you; I'm extending your thought, not trying to rebut it.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

Face it Linux is where the cutting edge it at. Mac had its time in the sun IMVHO. Let it go man...let it go...

Street Justice is not delayed because they have work to do on it. It is "delayed" because they don't want to bring it out. It is a marketing decision. They only took it off beta because they wanted beta to be as close to 21 release as possible, not because it needed any special work.

The only way SJ is coming out with 21 is if Beam Weapons explode the servers.

I wish it were. It actually probably wouldn't be that hard. The same people who Paragon Studios works with to have City of Heroes running on the Mac, Transgaming, also develops Cedega, which is a compatibility layer for Linux a la Cider is for the Mac.

Yeah, but Transgaming releases new stuff slower than Bethesda... soooo..

If it were to somehow launch before the problem was fixed, and people on live ended up being double-billed due to technical issues, I guarantee you there would be refunds.

Saying "all sales are final" is all well and good, but there are these little things called consumer protection laws that states tend to take rather seriously.

IMO supporting the Mac at all was the showstopper. Although not nearly as much of a self-hobbling as the two competing games that tried and failed and tried and succeeded (nominally) to cross pollinate with consoles. I still don't think it's possible for me to heap enough derrision on the computer with a one-button mouse as a gaming tool though, and ever since they declared war on Adobe I'm unsure what they are good for at all.

And the thread is back to Mac VS. PC, just like every single thread where the mac community says anything about the mac client. In a forum where the community is so great, ******** like this really disappoints me.

To be fair the "Mac vs PC" debate is pretty much one of the core foundational forum topics of the Internet. There have been thousands of people posting on it every day around the world for decades now. Even if there wasn't a Mac client for this game I'll bet someone here would be slinging Mac vs PC posts at each other. You might as well get upset at the sun rising and setting each day.

Trigger happy. I called it.

People say lolmacs when it comes to gaming due to their history. Patience is required when it comes to change. It's not exactly like Apple is helping matters, as they sure don't advertise their machines as a possible gaming platform.

At least Valve has seen the light.
