I've managed to do some pretty amazing things with this build, but my playstyle has evolved to be rather melee-centered, in fact there's rarely a moment i'm out of melee, so i'm beginning to have second toughts about the ranged softcap i've put in his first build. I was just wondering some things about this build:
-Is thunderstrike as good as it seems on paper or is the longish activation time on it a real handicap in the game?
-Will this build also give me good protection or will i feel the difference in being mezzed or vs certain common enemygroups?
-Will i miss flares? my single attack chain now is flares-fire blast-blaze but i cant often fire it off more than twice, i could always substitute it with fire ball for 1 run of ball-blast-blaze-blast-ball-blaze-blast when facing tough single targets, but will it be good enough?
-Are there any big flaws in my second build that i might have missed?
-If you'd have to pick a build to use, which one would you pick?

-The long activation on Thunderstrike may bother you, instead take the immobilize and slot it with Enfeebled Operation. Then free up slots from infrigidate and place them wherever. You can also change the slotting on Sleet at this time.

-Both builds have same mez protection. You may notice knockback more now that you will fall on your backside.
(Derf.. I forgot some mez is tagged with range, yes you may notice it more often)

-Take Flares. Fire Ball > Flares > Blaze > Flares should be good for anything. On hard targets always make sure to fire off those attacks when they are up?

-You didn't slot accuracy into Benumb.. I would consider that a flaw :-p

-I would use a build similar to the second, I posted it below.

- If you're melee-centric then you should probably build for S/L Softcap instead of Range.. it will most likely increase your chances of survival.

- I wouldn't take TS personally since I don't like to be rooted on something like a Fire/Cold where you are doing lots of different jobs.

- Skipping Flares is fine IMO. Especially if you're teaming a lot you'll be throwing out Blaze/Fire Blast, your AoEs, and debuffs mainly. If you want a tight ST chain then sure, but I didn't have much room in my build as is.

- I would pick the second build to play with out of the 2.

EDIT: Notes about slotting:

- Slot Benumb with at least 1 Acc, and preferably another Rech.

- Please put some defence into your shields if you plan to team.

- Swap the EndMod/Acc for an EndMod/Rech in Heat Loss. It's like the best power ever.

- Looking at your build... I like how you achieve SL softcap + a Res. shield, but you seem to underslot/sacrfice a lot of things for it. I'm wondering whether dropping the Res. shield and using Scorp Shield will help. Or maybe dropping to 32.5% SL and keeping the Res shield.

EDIT 2: Just playing around with your build, if you don't like Thunder Strike, you could swap it out for Electric Fence and slot it with Enfeebled. This is what I came up with.

I've battled with people on there before about this, but I'll say again that it's completely fine to skip the ACC in Benumb as long as you make sure to use Aim first.

You don't need to worry about using Aim if Benumb has enough accuracy to begin with.

I consider not having accuracy in an important power a flaw. ;-)

What is there to worry about? If you aren't using Aim before your most important debuff then you're doing it wrong anyway.

I consider wasting a slot a flaw ;-)

I don't find my slot in Benumb wasted. I consider the extra slot I placed in Stamina to be a wasted slot. But, all my attacks were 6-slotted and there was no better place for it.

Of course, there is little point in talking about this.
You continue using Aim>Debuff>Attacks. I'll continue with Debuff>Aim>Attacks.
