Reese's Benefactor?
If you call in White, he says:
Now get outta here. I'm gonna make sure Reese learns a very valuable lesson from all this. Maybe he'll make it outta here alive - if he's still got the will. |
If you try to burn Reese in the building he says:
You think this'll stop me, Character?! NOTHING can stop me, Character! I have NOT come this far just to die like this! A-agh...not like this... I'll...come back...Character...I'll find a way...to hunt you down... |
And when Reese reappears he says, "No one can kill me, Character. Not when I haven't reached my true power. Not YOU! Not PRAETOR WHITE! NO ONE!" So, he didn't die.
However, nice catch about "she promised me". I don't know who that is. Did Reese wind up in Mother's hospital? Did he find the Praetorian version of the furies?

Based on the Tami Baker arc, Praetor Duncan and Praetor White do NOT get along. I assumed that Reese's secret mentor was Praetor Duncan.

Praetor Duncan? Makes sense, I guess. I was thinking either Mother Mayhem, Vanessa DeVore , or Belladonna Vetrano. But I couldn't really see the motivation for any of them to save former Top Dog Reese. Praetor Duncan makes more sense.

Makes sense that Reese would have ... issues ... after ... uh ... *submitting himself* to the ... um ... Tender Mercies ... offered by ... Dominatrix ... better known as Praetor Duncan.
And I can easily see Praetor Duncan LYING to Reese and telling him that he is now somehow ... undying ... in much the same way that BV is ... undying. After all, nothing makes a LIE stronger than mixing it with a TRUTH of some kind.

Interesting. I don't recall ever having that come up. Instead, after I called in White to deal with Reese, I didn't see him (Reese) again until I went to leave Praetoria. He was there, in the room with the portal, and he'd had a change of heart.

That's interesting. I'm guessing you didn't continue with the Loyalist Power path and didn't do Transmuter's story arc. Was Warrant there as well (since Reese kills Warrant in that story arc)?

I did do Transmuter's Arc, and I remember him killing Warrant. And no, Warrant wasn't there to see me off.
I wonder if it glitched out on me?

I am replaying the Praetoria story-arcs, and while playing the Loyalist Power arcs, I noticed something.
***SPOILER WARNING for those of you who haven't played through Lv 1-20 Praetoria yet***
OK, at the end of the Nova Praetoria Loyalist Power storyline, you can either choose to blow up Reese (turn Resistance) or reveal him to Marauder (stay Loyalist). It's implied that Marauder kills Reese.
Later on, in Imperial City's Loyalist Power storyline, you meet Transmuter, who is investigating a murderer of people in the Powers Division. It turns out to be Reese who is back from the dead. When you defeat him the second time, he says something along the line of "she told me I would finally have my revenge."
So was it ever revealed who this "she" is? If not, what is the speculation for the identity of this mystery benefactor?
