Fury of the Gladiator Proc...

Would it be better to put this proc into burn or blazing aura? Just not sure if it has a chance to proc every time burn ticks, or just on the initial attack from burn. Same goes for blazing aura, not sure if it has a chance every time it ticks.

In both cases, it will attempt to proc when the power is cast, and once every 10 seconds after. I don't think Burn lasts long enough to proc twice per cast, so if Burn's recharge is greater than 10 seconds, put it in Blazing Aura, if Burn's recharge is less than 10 seconds, put it in Burn.

Iirc, the math is such that it's often better to go with a straight damage proc than the -res

iirc, the higher ranked the mob is, the more likely you are to come out ahead vs a dmg proc. For minions, you may not be able to come out ahead. And there was one case where you had to hit the mob with the -res while doing no damage to get you money's worth out of it--Lts maybe?

I think that with EBs and AVs you entered into the territory where you ended up better off with -res proc than w/ dam proc.

It was a Werner diatribe somewhere.

Just an fyi

For solo play.
On a team everyone will do more damage to the mob under the effects of the proc.

The limiting factor was the hit points of the mob, not the amount of damage being done to the mob. The problem was that in order to get to the point where the -res could make the equivalent difference to the damage done as the damage procs, the mob would have been dead anyway before the -res is counted.
I am not sure that having a team would change that part.

But, for the really hard targets, the -res CAN amount to a greater difference in the damage than the damage procs. And, having more attacks hit a foe which is -res debuffed is more better. So a team does make the -res worth more for hard targets. But the easier the target, like min and lts, the less value the -res contributes.

Burn.

Burn gets 2 tics per activation, BA gets one tic per 10 seconds. So if you were to use Burn once every 10 seconds, procs in it would be twice as effective as they would be in BA.

This is the important bit. Just ahving burn recharge fast enough isn't the criteria. The criteria is: Do you click it every 10 seconds or every 12 seconds or every 15 seconds? Whether it is recharged or not, that is the important bit.

For instance, on my fire/fire scrapper I use it once every third spawn. Only when there are enough bosses to matter because fireswordcircle-fireball and all the minions are dead, half the lieut's at least and the one or two lieuts still standing are faster to kill with cremate than burn because they're not clumped up.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Not the case with brutes, as Burn is a great ST attack as well.

Ya the proc is really only there to increase my st dps against AVs/pylons etc. There is enough aoe on my ss/fa that it doesn't really matter for regular spawns.
