Fortunately, so far the numbers needed are small (defeat 5 Hellions) and they've been respawning *really* fast. (Almost too fast, honestly.)

I don't think it'll be a problem.
From what I heard th respawn rate on beta was increased to what it is because the devs were anticipating the huge amount of players trying out I21. And even with that I still saw a couple of times where there were more players than the respawn could handle. That's why I started checking if Hellions counted if they were nowhere near the mission marker. (they did count)

Both of which I've seen happen in the open beta.
Just for future reference: Just because I posted after you doesn't mean I was responding to you. If I'm responding to someone, I quote them. Posting without quoting means responding to the thread.

It'd be pretty cool if they had some "population control" like the 800lb Gorilla does. If a large number of people congregate in an area killing enemies, the game figures that out and starts spawning dudes faster. Once the players thin out again, the game figures that out and reduces the spawn rate. It's all done automatically without any development intervention.

I don't think there will be a big problem with high level griefers wiping out the Hellions and such, since they won't be able to get to the zone. Yes my level 50 can go to AP, but not the AP new characters enter from the tutorial, with its invading force from Arachnos, the murder scene at the cinema, and the Hellion cave under the bridge. That entire zone is an instance, which goes away when the final mission of the arc is completed, so there is no way for someone to come in and wipe out the Arachnos towers to keep anyone else from finishing their mission.

Their may be ways around that, if you leave the zone without finishing the arc in some manner, which AP do you return to? Is is limited by level, or by finishing the arc? I am guessing a combination, since my high level that I transferred didn't see the instanced zone and he has certainly never done the arc. What happens when someone has the arc open and heads back to AP at level 20? That is a good question, which will be a pain to test.

Okay, but just for clarification so I can avoid any future misunderstandings, if I want to respond to something you have posted, should I send you a PM and ask permission to quote you first?

You had mentioned tagging npc's for credit to complete the open missions, but the problem I saw, and experienced once again last night was that there were so many players at the mission site it was next to impossible to complete the mission.

Last night trying to do one of the rescue hostages missions it took me 30 minutes to tag the hellions and rescue 4 hostages because there were a dozen players at the mission site causing too much lag to target anything fast enough. (inside regular missions there was no lag at all.)

Now when this goes live it may not be a problem on lower pop servers but on servers like Freedom and Virtue . . .

Unlikely in the extreme. Do what I did and wait for them to add more to the existing pools. I was thankful to have all that stuff sitting around when new Lore pets came out, and I'll feel the same when there are new Judgements or Destiny powers.
