Notes in Character Select

Not sure if this has been suggested before but I got this idea where we could add notes to our characters in the character select screen. I find that I have so many alts that sometimes I don't even know why I kept them. If I could add notes to my characters it would help organization and would help me keep track of my altitis. For example, I'm saving one of my level 10 alts and to remind myself I would add a note saying "Waiting to re-roll with Street Justice."

It could simply be a small + sign next to each name that would expand into a text box when clicked. I'm not sure that there would be an overwhelming demand for this but I thought I might as well suggest it.

The devs recently said that the amount of data stored in a character file is surprisingly huge, so if this is supposed to be stored server-side, I don't think it would be a good idea.

However, if the information is stored client-side in a text file on your computer (like the file that re-orders your list), or is just the character description already saved in your character file, then sure, it sounds good.

I don't see why it would need to be stored on the server since it's a personal note, not a note that anyone else would see. The same way player notes are stored on your computer. In fact, when I saw the OP, storage on the server didn't even occur to me until reading your post.

I like it. I would probably use it for salvage lists.

Personally, I use a notebook and a pencil.

But, I like the idea... In fact, I think it'd be cool to have the ability to click and see the character's "ID" from the character select screen... then I'd be able to put notes there as well...

Or perhaps a 4th tab in the Info page, with personal info, seen only by the player and other players who click "info".... so the RPers can still write their uber-bios, and have a separate place to put private info...

I'd have no problem if something like this is implemented...

I'm not crazy about this but not against it either. The data would probably be stored client-side. I don't know what goes into pulling up an edit box in this game or how difficult the Character Select screen code is so standard code rant applies.

This is why I keep a paragon wiki user page. Sadly, I forget to update it most times I create a new character on one of those other servers and then I don't remember what they are to take note of it on Pwiki. The same thing would probably happen if we had notes on the character select tbh. But that's me, I'm sure others would remember to put notes on their characters.

But yeah, I'd like this feature. I'd like it even if the only change was that we could see the character's powersets (primary and secondary only) on the selection screen. I have a lot of characters that I'm not sure if I want to play heh.
