First 50 Plan (Fire/Fire)

Gashes

So I have played this game on and off since it's release, but I have never actually gotten to 50 because the leveling curve always got boring to me before then. Someone offered to power level one of my characters on a Fire/Fire tank recently and it seemed really fast. This made me want to make a Fire/Fire tank, so I did.

I took myself from 1-26 power leveling myself in about 3 hours. In my attempts to get to 50 before it would take me days to get to 26, so I was sold. I played another day for several hours and have gotten myself up to 41 (Farther than I have ever been before) in just 2 days!!!

I made some mistakes with power/enhancement slots and want to respec when I hit 50 (Which I still need to figure out how to get a respec). I don't know much/anything about Invention Origin Enhancements, so I figure I will start with level 50 Single Origins with a spec to make some influence before worrying about it. I cannot currently install anything so I used an online planner so it didn't have inherent fitness (Or let me put accuracies in burn for some reason), but any feedback would be appreciated, or advice for someone getting their first 50 .

hi, welcome back.

-what you have listed looks good for SO's.

-I went ahead a made a build with a small amount of IO's that give you the most bang for yer buck.

alot of the recipes I used you could probably buy for 1 influence, but the salvage and crafting cost will cost @ 300k each (if you buy lvl 49).

btw lvl50 recipes have a crafting cost of 500k.
lvl49 recipes have a crafting cost of 250k. <--save moneys

also every recipe will have different salvage requirements depending on the lvl of the recipe.
example lvl41~50 will have the same salvage requirements, but that same recipe lvl 40~25 will require different salvage (usually cheaper).

You have a fire tank.

Go incarnate immediately, do not wait, do not pass go, do not collect money's.

You have no idea the level of awesome awaiting you.

I envy you.

Sweet, thank you for the recommendations. I have like 30 million influence right now anyway because I am leveling in AOE fire farms and using architect tickets to buy stuff when I reach the cap and sell them on the market. I am kind of waiting for the double XP weekend this weekend to finish my treck to 50 for the first time. I feel like I would be wasting time if I didn't just wait at this point .

Hum interesting hardly any def at all, low damage. End is going to run out real quick not to mention getting Kbed around by higher lvl content. Even if it is for farming the OC might want to do more reg play. Hardly any recharge so it will attack slower. Has no taunt ( a tank with out taunt is like a emp with out heals). Maneuvers is poorly slotted for end. It is a high end toggle and would easily be out of end in no time flat.

Incarnate is Level 50 content you can do if you have going rogue. It lets you get now powers and to get to at least lvl 51 with reg game stuff, or lvl 53 with incarnate stuff.

Yeah, I didn't really examine the details of that build, I thought it was the same build with IOs instead of some SOs. Do you have a recommended build for mostly doing fire farms, but obviously it would be nice if I could do other things . The builder I used is from before fitness was inherent so I would have a couple of extra powers, and taunt was going to be one of them, but I haven't used it yet since I have just been leveling, so I didn't know if it needed to be slotted?

I did a little research on Incarnate stuff, and they just seem like they require big raids. Someone had mentioned that as a fire/fire I should do them immediately. Is that because it is easy for fire/fire to get groups, or what; I don't get how my spec affects Incarnate trials I guess...

I think he was kidding around or was thinking more along the line of it would be easier to do some of that farming you want. This is my build not really a farmer build but I do AE farms to get tickets with him. Yes for the salvage to build stuff I do not have. You can get some of the stuff pretty cheap, though there is some you can not.

Getting the incarnate powers will be a huge boost to your performance for very little cost. So, the first thing you should do at a minimum is get your tier three alpha slot. On a fire, look hard at spiritual or cardiac.

To get these is simple, requires no teaming and gets you a level shift, which is HUGE.

Or, do what you want, what good is my advice, anyway?

SLK has an important point. If you want an SO build, fine for now, but either take acrobatics (I dont see it listed) or find a KB protection IO (travel power, def, or resistance). Fire tank without KB protection is a ping pong ball ... Got caught between 2 groups of nemesis snipers and literally spent 3 minutes bouncing back and forth. My teammates were too amused to help (immediately). Didnt die, but the shame! the shame!

Plus, some IO's (like multistrikes) can be incredibly cheap. You dont need to get 50's in everything. a lvl 40 dam/acc, lvl 30 dam/rech, lvl 48 dam/end/rech ... Any IO lvl 25+ is better than an SO (if you triple the SO, e.g. lvl 53, its close to a lvl 40 IO).
I mention this, because bargain hunting for effective IO's will make a sturdier build you can start using now, instead of buying new SO's every 5 levels.

50 Tanks: Invul/ss, Fire/ice/fire, Ice/em, Stone/fire
WP/Stone, dark/dark, shld/mace

50 Other: WS, SS/dark/sc brute, BS/Regen/WM scrpr, fire/fire/force blaster, rad/kin corr, mind/rad ctrl, ill/storm cntrl

Wait What? do you have a vid of that i would love to have seen that. Sounds like what happened to me a few years back ( i lost the screen shoot though) of me getting stuck in a grate in CF and had to get a friend to TP me out. /stuck and /unstuck did not work at all.

If you're fire farming for tix only, I don't see the need for kb protection.

I'm a marketer. I think it's easier and more fun than farming, but I do have a fire/SS tank I'm ignoring right now around level 33 or so. His job is to do tix and buy lv 30 bronze rolls with them. The marketing forum has done many studies and that's the cash cow [though I've always always always had bad luck with anything random, so I dislike the rolls.]

I suggest visiting the marketing faqs. 30m is nothing in this game [I say that, but my first 50 was made with no PL on DOs mostly. I didn't know anything about slotting or Mids.]

A farmer should be a farmer IMO. A tool for cash.

As for leveling, I actually froze my main at 25 for a few months at one point because I really dig Talos. Before the Incarnates, I didn't really see the point of having a 50. A midlevel toon with a couple hundred million in them is what really impresses me. And if you're a TF/Team person, you need to be able to exemp, and that's a whole other discussion.

I'm double posting, but I want what I'm saying here to stand out more than just tacking on as an edit on my rambling post up there.

Two level 28 IOs that enhance two things are as effective as two level 50 SOs.

What I'm saying is two level 28 Acc/Dam enh are just as effective as a level 50 acc and a level 50 damage IO. And picking up peices of unwanted sets in the 30s and 40s are super cheap. 50 for sale and 0 bidders cheap.

Alright, so I guess I should start looking to craft some IOs immediately.

Someone said you can do incarnate stuff without teaming? How do you do this, because everything I have read says that you essentially need to raid to get Incarnate powers.

Lastly, is there a way to dual-spec or something in CoH? Have one Fire/Fire tank build to max farming, and one to maximize group play for general content?

First one he is talking about unlocking your alpha slot, which will take about 30 min if you speed through it. The mish in RWZ you can auto complete to make it go faster. At lvl 50 you can go to Ouro and talk to the guy there to start to unlock you alpha slot.
For the second one yes you can but you have to talk to the trainer for that one and make a second build. Plus it will be expensive. Or just do what some ppl do and only use 1 build for both.
