Returning player - teaming?
Welcome back!
The best way these days is to find your server's most active Global channel(s) and hang out there. Usually you can find them in the server's forum below.
Good luck!

I just got back after a long absence. What is the best way to form teams these days? Do people tend to run AE missions, radio missions, or something else?
I like CoX best when I am on a team. I am just not sure what the best way to form groups is. |
The best way to form teams nowadays is global channels. I recommend wondering down to the sub forum for your server and inquiring as to the most popular ones for that server.
PS: I like to team on a 47 Fire/Kin and a lowbie Ice/Storm mostly - not sure if that matters. |
Hero (or Villain) tip missions have replaced radio missions to some extent.
They reward you with merits which can buy many of the really good but exepensive recipes outright, and have a few good hallmarks of newer missions, such as NPC helpers, decent dialogue and a bit of storyline.
Like radios, they can get reptitive, but they're a good alternative for casual teaming. Adevrtising that I'm running hero tips has worked well for me so far.
Advertising that I'm running hero tips has worked well for me so far.

I still tend to use the same method of teaming I have in the past: /search and find people who are free or LFG, and send them a /tell telling them what I'm doing and asking if they'd like to team up. Of course, it works better on the servers that have more people on them, such as Virtue.
Thank you!
So do you think my best bet is:
1) Advertise that a group is forming in my server Global channel
2) Say that it is an AE team in Atlas Park so everyone knows where to go
3) Form team, then just choose one of the highest ranked missions
I am not into mega-farming - just fun teaming - so I imagine choosing the 'dev choice' missions will work for me.
Yes? Do I need to say what level I am or that it is non-farm/non-aoe in the invite? Any other tips?
Thanks again.

As other suggested you might have more luck running tips or a regular contact (or an AE farm).
As for level I'd definitely state what level you are. With super sidekicking it's not critical to have all teamembers the same level but some people don't like to go up/down to much from their actual level. Some people like to use 25 or 30 as a lower bound for any higher level team since a character at that level has enough powers/slots/SOs to be useful on a high level team. It's not critical but a (for example) level 15 character with DOs struggles on a level 50 team since in addition to fighting +1 or higher enemies level 50 groups tend to have more powers and more debuffs/mezzes that a level 15 lacks counters to.
Thank you - I am not into farming but if I have to go that route to get a team, are there specific AE missions to look for?

One good spot for regular AE teams is in RWZ since both heroes and villains can join.
Thanks!
