The new macbook airs and maybe the mini are supposed to be launched today (as i post this the new specs are not released and the mac online store is still down). If anyone picks them up let me know how CoH runs on them, im thinking of either building a hackintosh or getting a new mac mini for my desktop.

Thanks in advance.

The new Mac Minis are released with no optical drive. Apple suggests you use the same approach that the Airs do. That's fine for making a notebook you carry around lighter, but I think it's strange for a desktop. At any rate, the new minis get a graphics update, and that can only be good for running CoH.

Here's the thing with the Mac mini: the graphics "update" the base and server model got is more of a downgrade when it comes to gaming performance. The GeForce 320M integrated chip in the previous models outperforms the Intel HD 3000 in the current line, though I don't recall exactly by how much. However, for the first time since the PPC versions of the Mac mini you can now get discrete graphics if you spring for the $799 version, which ships with a Radeon HD 6630M, which is a midrange card which should run at least some features of Ultra mode.

yeah thats what i thought macskull, the no optical drive doesn't bother me cuz my macbook pro can share its optical drive. though i wish they made it easier to change out the hard drives, i love my momentous xt in my pro would love it in my mini when i get it.

Even from the teardown, it looks pretty straight forward to remove the regular drive
