Odd Question

Alright, so here is the situation. My wife and I both have an account, and on her account I have a lvl 50 SS/Fire/Mu Brute that I Ambush farm with to level up my characters on my main account(sad isn't it?). Well anyways, here lately, I've been playing that Brute alot and have been doing the Unai council farm for purples. Usually after about 4 or 5 runs, I get 1 purple drop and call it a day.

Well the other day, my friend was bored and was coming with me with his Fire/Rad troller. he had to go pick up his kids, so he put his character on follow w/ Choking Cloud + Hot Feet and his imps on. My farming time increased dramatically wit him following me on Auto with the Imps cutting down people left and right and Choking cloud + Hot feet keeping them in place and hurting them.

So here is my question, I've been wanting to make a MM for a long time now, but have really never found one that I enjoyed much. I'm thinking about building one to follow me around and help me farm, but also be something I enjoy playing when I'm on my account. What I want to know is:
1)What MM pet does the most Damage on it's own? Looking at Mid's and Red Tomax, it looks like Demon's and Bot's are the best. My only concern with bots is the KB, which would slow down farming a bit. So I'm leaning more towards Demons at the moment, but everyone seems inclined that Bots do the most damage and are the best.

2)What secondary would be good for farming purposes? Right now I have no idea. I plan to have the character flying and following me, casting something on Auto. His Fire/Rad was casting heal nonstop (not that I really needed it, but it was nice). I was thinking /Pain because you could do a Heal, and have the Pain Bubble on so that I'd get a Regen bonus. I really liked Rad's Choking Cloud and Fire's Hot Feet doing the wonders it did, but, I've always wanted to make a MM and having 5 pets that are awesome versus 3 imps that are insane sounds better. Do any of the others secondaries have something similar to CC and HF?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. I know this is a stupid request, because a SS/Fire/Mu farmer should be able to slaughter anything (especially with 45% S/L Defense and 65% S/L Resistance). But the pets do help speed things up, and like I said, I want a fun MM to play that can help w/ Farming and with playing regular content. Money is no object, so go nuts. Thank you for your time ^_^

If you can pack enemies together, Assault Bot wins with the massive AoEs it can put out. If you've got some form of anti-knockback (you might be able to put Electrifying Fences on auto and have your pet mastermind target through you), it'll be even better. The Arsonist from Thugs also puts out large amounts of AoE damage, but it's far less durable.

/Pain has a good toggle in Suppress Pain, and three good candidates for an autopower: World of Pain (minor AoE damage buff), Anguishing Cry (PBAoE resistance debuff), and Painbringer (massive regen and recovery buff, with a moderate damage buff).

/FF has Dispersion Bubble as a good toggle (protect the pets from AoE splash damage), but doesn't have a good autopower. You could put Insulation Shield on auto for more AoE protection.

/Traps may sound a bit odd, but putting Acid Mortar on auto will give you a 20% AoE resistance debuff, and Forcefield Generator only requires summoning every four minutes.

If you're willing to wait for i21, /Sonic will give you a resistance toggle in Sonic Dispersion, a resistance debuff toggle in Disruption Field, and Sonic Siphon would work as an autopower giving a single-target resistance debuff.

I usually don't have too much of a problem keeping enemies together. Sometimes Footstomp knocks them back a little bit, but I usually throw fences before I footstomp just so that I can force them into my burn Patch and do FS afterwords. I just figured Since Demon's do Fire/Cold/Poison damage that they'd put out more than Bots. I know Bots have a majority of Energy damage, but isn't most of it S/L as well where foes would resist it more?

If you wanna wait id def go demon/sonic. If not go demon therm and cast forge on yourself,I love forge on my brutes :-)

The reason Bots win for AoE damage is the Assault Bot's burn missiles. When one of those hits it creates a burn patch for every enemy in the area of effect, so if the enemies are tightly packed the burn patches they spawn all overlap and stack; one burn patch does okish damage, but get a spawns' worth stacking and they melt down the enemy faster than any other MMO pet's attacks.

Bots have other AoEs, obviously, but it's the burn missiles that put them *way* ahead of the other sets (well except maybe Thugs - Arsonist's burn patch works similarly, though it's a lower level pet so slightly less damaging, and he dies constantly)

This is an odd question for sure. You want to have a MM that auto follows you....

This means pets need to be on Aggressive mode or maybe Bodyguard mode when the MM gets attacked. With Bodyguard, there is some delay.

I would say Demon is probably better because Demon doesn't really knock back. Demon Prince pet has chilling embrace which should help the mobs run slower and Ember Demon has some fire shield for you.

If you want a MM to follow you and doesn't require much babysitting, I would suggest Demon/FF. Just do a power boost + two shields ONCE (before you have to buff 7 times including you) and you are ready to rock. The shield lasts about 240 seconds.

So basically the Mastermind has Bubble Dispersion and Force Field for you which don't require active clicking.

Edited: The future Demon/Sonic should be good for you too because you can just cast Disruption Field on you and let your MM follows. You still only need to cast sonic shields twice (although I think the pets may die easier with sonic than with force field but I have a feeling you'll grab most of the aggro anyway).

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

thanks for all the feedback guys. Right now its a tough tie between Bots/Thermal or Demons/Pain. I like Pain having a massive Debuff move that it can cast on auto with Anguishing Cry (like I said, top notch Defense, great resistance, and Healing flames really makes it to where I don't need healing) and Bots are top notch w/ AoE and Thermal has Forge. But, I think I may wait so I can make Demons/Sonic and make either bots/Pain or Bots/Thermal for now just so I can get used to playing MM's (I mainly play Trollers). that and Sonic Demons...o the noise the noise..people will not want to be next to me at Wentworths/Black Market lol
