Peace Bringer Build - Need Opinions

Greetings, first time poster, long time player. Lately, I've changed my way of thinking with regards to my expectations when I create or (in most cases) re-create my characters. Thanks to some careful planning and a ton of trial and error, I have nice diverse set of characters which I really enjoy playing. However, I am having some trouble getting my Peacebringer (Tri-build) up to snuff. I don't have the extra $$ to test drive this toon. So, I am relying strictly on Mids. I would appreciate some input and opinions on this particular build. Thanks in advance.

You've invested in all three human form shields, leading me to believe that you intend to spend a bit of time in human form.

You've slotted several of the attacks like RS, IS and SF, but you didn't slot Gleaming Blast. Nor did you even take attacks like Luminous Detonation and Dawn Strike. You also didn't take Light Form.

WHICH leads me to believe that you don't, after all, intend to spend all that much time in human form. I hope. Because you're going to be slaughtered if you do. I've been face-planted through capped resistance because I didn't have enough of an attack chain to take my foes down first. Your attack chain in human form is going to be miserable.

Therefore I'm going to assume you slotted those human form attacks for the defense bonuses, and took the shields for the same reason.

That being the case, I'd remove Thermal and Quantum Shields from your build and put the three Aegis from Quantum Shield in Incandescance. Take the extra slot that you gain from the removal of Thermal Shield and put it in Shining Shield. Put the KB protection IO that used to be in Incandescance in it. Next, remove that last slot from Photon Seekers. That defense bonus from Edict of the Master is for your pets only, and your pets aren't meant to survive for very long.

You'd be far better served to put that slot in your Shining Shield and fill it with the Steadfast Protection Unique that you stripped out of Thermal Shield.

What to do with those two power slots now? Take Grant Invisibility (for the teaming utility) and Invisibility and put LotG recharge speed IO's in them.

This will help your Forms' attack chains and greatly increase your survivability by increasing your kill speed. The forms are the life-blood of this build. A Nova that can soft-cap with two small purples? Yes, please!

Stay out of human form as much as possible on this build, and you should be quite happy.

For someone who says they don't have much cash, you sure do have alot of Numina convalescence in your build. Those things are far from cheap. Ok, when possible switch them out for Doc Wounds for the recharge set bonus.

All your human attacks - Find the slots for them, or you're not a tri-form. Having only the one default slot in any human attacks should get you kicked out the Tri-Form club.
Incandescence - I would say at least one more slot on a power that carries over to all your forms.
Hasten - either two (or three) slot.. you want the recharge.
Bright Nova - the Fly -stealth proc works great here.
Photon Seeker - Ok, you do know you got a def proc in a power that spawns three suicide bombers?
White Dwarf - if you plan on being a dwarf alot, put your Pref-Shifter proc there.
Shields - toss all but the first one.
Nova/Dwarf attacks - far, far overslotted for a tri-form. On mine, I think its 3/3/4/4 on nova and 3/4/4/3 on dwarf. Look into Hami IOs in the first two attack powers on Nova, its pricey but worth it.

Gonna beg to differ. So long as you have a workable attack chain in human form, you're fine. For example, if you could find the recharge to somehow chain Gleaming Blast, Incandescant Strike and Radiant Strike, I don't care how many other human attacks you have that may or may not be slotted. If you can fight effectively in all three forms then you're a triformer.

Although this build is Triform in name only, IMHO. In practice it looks very dual-form Nova/Dwarf.

To what end? Roughly 15% resistance to energy and negative energy? So what? If you're not using it for set mules (and the OP is) then one slot is MORE than sufficient.

And I'm not completely sure that it carries over into forms just because it's an auto power.

Quote:

That's debatable. About the only use the stealth proc has in Nova is to allow it to get closer to a spawn without being detected, since there's no way to self-stack it with another stealth power for true invisibility. Range/Damage HO's in the nova attacks achieve the same thing that a stealth IO in Nova would.

Quote:
White Dwarf - if you plan on being a dwarf alot, put your Pref-Shifter proc there.
The performance shifter proc is better in Stamina, since Stamina now carries over into forms as well. I have one in both on my build, but since the OP is going for a set bonus in Dwarf (and Dwarf is maxx'd out for resistance to boot) I'd say the OP's slotting on those powers is fine.

UNLESS the OP is going for set bonuses, which I do believe is the case.

You seem to think the OP is going for a pure triform build, and I don't think this is so. Rather, It looks to me like what [EDIT: Memphis Bill (sheesh, my memory!)] referred to in his guide as "the inhuman build," or one that relies on just nova and dwarf. If that's the case, then the OP's build makes perfect sense (with some tweaking, given my previous post in this thread).

I will admit my PB is a bit dusty, yet if someone tell me that what this type of toon... and I will help them with that type of toon. If the OP want a straight dual form, then alot of my choices would be different. His isn't a cheap build, and it did have alot of mistakes (like with Photon Seeker and a pet def proc). While we can debate about Nova and the Fly-proc, I have used it for years on Pos TF to get myself into position above a mob before the team aggs it so I can best place my aoe fire for maximum return. Its a sweet little trick, which I can't automatically assume the OP knows. As for 'Stamina', I knew somewhat about the change but been so busy getting ipowers for my other toons that I haven't gotten back to my PB since i19.

So if OP wants to be a 'Dancer', his human attack chain needs to be just a little better.

There we go. Great feedback, I know I do have some things to consider. When I build a character I don't go for the "best" I try and go for what is fun for me. Usually, I am very good at building toons that suit my needs but I will admit the peacebringer AT is not only challenging to build but challenging to play. It's been awhile since I've been this geared up about a build.
I tweaked a few things the other day and respec'd the build. My thought process was to slot for defence/resistance and be mindful of endurance usage. I play the human form as a "scrapper" using the trusted "squid" for ranged attacks, and the white dwarf for those "tanking" duties when required.
I knew I had some holes (and still do) I appreciate the feedback.

`snip`
Didn't say I was broke, only said I don't like wasting inf. Thanks for the feedback.

And yes, I'm shooting for a tri-form that makes primary use of shifted forms. Sorry I wasn't clearer in my opening post. Not up to snuff with the PB lingo.

No worries... but I have yet to see the 'perfect' Dancer (a term I read once back in a i9 guide about a trifrom - switching or 'dancing' between forms as you fight). Recharge is always a good set bonus to try for, since you got Dwarf to fall back on for defense. I think I remember somewhere that nova gives you the most aoe damage, so you might want to maybe just two slot the first attack nova power for use in the other three. As for Dwarf form, in my 50s, I mostly use it for mez protection and tanking. Be sure to have all three of your heals slotted to at least three or better. That is a huge strength of a PB, having three heals to fall back on.

Here is my current build, which I'm still pretty unhappy about but having many other toons before it I need to fix... I doubt I get to it till later this year.

Hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what I am targeting. I do use human form...but primarily enjoy playing with the shifted forms.

I made a couple of tweaks the other day and set the character up before you gents posted. I should have waited for feedback, but I was stoked about getting her out of SO'd mode. Here is what I ended up with, and currently running with. The discussions so far really has me pointed in the right direction. I see some work in MIDS and a respec in my near future. I am semi-happy with the current build, but there is really some room for improvement as mentioned, especially when it comes to freeing up some much needed slots.

If the point of this build is to almost exclusively use Nova and Dwarf then why take and 3 slot the human form shields? They aren't worth much without Light Form anyway. You could at least transfer some slots from them to the other forms to make them even more uber.
