Will BABS fall with Galaxy? Should he?

Might be neat to see him relocated to either Kings Row (since he and Blue Steel were both part of the Regulators) or maybe to Brickstown (given his history with Manticore). Also possible to make him a trainer in Perez (the way Foreshadow is in the Hollows), where he can still 'keep an eye' on the Skulls and the Hellions...

But killed in Galaxy? Oh hells, no, I hope not.

You know, given history (namely that BAB was going to be the KR trainer, until they added Galaxy City) I'd have expected that if they were going to kill anyone they'd kill Blue Steel. Only to have him come back in some sort of ultimate culmination storyline where he literally blows a hole in the ground and rips apart 100 clockwork like a hot knife through butter.

He also appears in a mission from Alan Desslock again between 30 -34 if you are a VEAT. Oh and don;t forget he is one of the 50 level signature heroes that appears in Recluse's Victory when a villain takes out enough pill boxes. THAT also means he is around in the future since that's where Recluse Victory takes place so it seems unlikely he dies defending Galaxy CITY in the present but is still battling evil in the future.

Heroes get to rescue him and have him as a pet in the Mendor Silos TF as well so right there you have 4 different missions and the summons in RV that would need to be altered if BABs died. Much more likely he'll do everything he can to save the neighborhood but in the end will be forced to retreat .. possibly even by Statesman yanking him out physically because "The city can't afford to lose you!"

Hmmm I can see it now State's running around for a week grumbling under his breath as the black eye BABs gives him SLOWLY heals. lol
Oh, I'm sure that BABs is going to be perfectly safe. I would be REALLY surprised if the Devs DID kill him-- or any of the Freedom Phalanx or the Vindicators-- off.

I guess it doesn't fit my mental image of BABs that he'd let his city fall while he still had breath left to defend it.

Maybe Shalice realizes its a lost cause and mind controls BABs to make him leave for his own safety. Maybe he's knocked out. Maybe he suffers injuries in battle that prevent him from being able to stave off the disaster.

IMO, there should be some kind of loss to the Fall of Galaxy ... and NOT just generic "Oh thousands of no name NPCs died and the city was made into a wasteland" sort of way.

When DC Comics had Coast City be destroyed by the Cyborg Superman, it appeared that everyone that Hal Jordan knew or loved happened to not be in the city. He didn't lose a single person that mattered to him ... (though I think it was later retconned that Kari Limbo, his former fiancee, died.)

Maybe we'll see BABs with cybernetic limbs. Maybe his bio will be tagged with a line about how he's dealing with the tragic loss of Galaxy.

Maybe we'll find out that all the Galaxy City contacts perished in the destruction. (And given that one of those contacts is part of the cape mission I am curious about how that will revamped. Oh, and Shadowstar ... can't forget about her.)

I don't know the mechanics of the game. I don't know if the Devs could simply replace BABs with, for instance, Miss Lberty (Megan's mom) or it would take far too much work to make the changes that'd be required to deal with the death of a major NPC.

But if Galaxy City is destroyed and it makes NO difference to BABs or the rest of Paragon then what's the point of doing it in the first place?

Meh, the real BABs is no longer with Paragon Star so I say he's fair game.
Besides, one less zone, one less trainer. He doesn't have to die but he doesn't need to go anywhere. He just disappears in a puff of hair and melanin, thus conforming to the look he now sports in the intro comic.

I actually WOULD like to see BABs replace Blue Steel, to be honest. He always looked out of place in Galaxy City. Kings Row is where he was always meant to be. At the same time, Captain America Super Cop always looked... Weird to me.

I'd actually like to see this. Sounds like it could be fun.

Don't let him hear you say that. We all know what happened to the last guy who had disparaging things to say about Blue Steel...

Or he's weakened by his efforts to save Galaxy City to the point of being easily defeated by a new upstart villain Arachnos just recruited. I think that's a good way to kick off a villain's career: your new villain gets to prove his newfound villainy by kicking one of Paragon City's toughest signature heroes in the jewels while they're at their weakest.

I have my own rant about the blueside cape mission, but I'll keep it to myself.

I do wonder about Shadowstar, though. The only logical thing I can think of is to move her to AP, where Sunstorm is already posted. The relationship between Peacebringers and Warshades seems to be at its best as long as their paths remain uncrossed. Hell, when a WS goes missing, the first thing Shadowstar does is accuse the Peacebringers of betrayal and send Warshades to rip Sunstorm a few new ones.

This could get interesting...
