So what else can I do as an Incarnate? (not a Trial rant)

Hi everyone.

I was giving this some thought the other day. For some people, the concept of an Incarnate for their character(s) suits them down to the ground, and for others it doesn't work at all.

My problem is that once I've become an Incarnate and 'ascended' for want of a better term, what's next for me? Yes, there's the Trials, but let's say for argument's sake I've done what's out there so far. And if I'm being honest, I'm not a big Trials fan. Never really has grabbed me, never will, I don't think.

Am I then being in a position of being permanently overpowered in comparison to everything else in the game? I have at least one character where the Incarnate powers as they stand are really good for them, but I just don't want to cakewalk everything also.

There's TF's and exemplaring, but are there or will there be other avenues for me to explore these abilities? I wouldn't like to think they're just good for one area of the game only....

Anyways, what do you think?

This stuff barely came out (and is still releasing), so you cant really cry doom quite yet. So you dont like trials. Thats fine. There are sure to be upcoming TFs soon, and lets not forget "The Coming Storm."

If you hate being strong in the meantime, unequip your level shift and/or abilities. Simple as that.

Though I can't tell why you would go to the trouble of playing the raids you didnt enjoy in the first place to only turn around and complain about your progression in strength...

Translation: Done! What's next?

This kind of comment is a developer's bane. Players inevitable work through the things they make in a micro fraction of the time it takes them to make it, and to make the things that come after it (in this case, you're theoretically completing it, but it's the same).

They've said on several occasions that there will be more to do as an Incarnate, and things you will need these powers to do well in. I'm not sure if you missed them saying that or what, but you're just gonna have to trust them that it's gonna take some time to get there.

Uhmm....that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just simply wondering what other ways I can put these new power levels and abilities to use beyond Trials. I'm not doom-crying, I'm not complaining about my strength levels, Stone Daemon.

I do apologise if I wasn't being clear about this.

You could always poke your nose into AE; the mission architect is quite capable of producing challenges much more formidable than the pre-Incarnate game canon.

Sorry if I misunderstood the point you were trying to make, but I think we still answered your question, regardless. More, non raid content will be coming, you just need to wait.

I just turned the difficulty up on the regular missions (tips, arcs, papers, scanners, bank jobs/safeguards, Oros and all that) that I've been running with my 50s all along.

It's one thing to be able to steamroll a mission at +2/xWhatever with your spiffy Barrier and Judgement and such... Running at +4/xMore, though? Unless you started with one of those over-engineered, over-equipped uber-toon nightmares who was soloing GMs and going at max difficulty even before incarnation, it'll be a bit more of a challenge.

If you *did* start with one of those guys... Go for TF/SF/soloed-AV speed records? Go hunt down and solo one of every single GM in the game? Become a badge-collector? Try out some of the "challenge missions" in AE?

There are all sorts of things to do with high-powered characters when you think about it...

I've taken to trying my "challenging" Nemesis AE arc with my incarnates, solo, even level, as a team of 8. In fact, soloing anything as a team of 8 can be entertaining for an incarnate who can't find a team.

Also, don't forget the Apex and Tin Mage Task Forces. I ran both the other night with a team of incarnates (a few with just Alpha, several with the higher slots), and they seem to be much more balanced, dynamic, and interesting with such a group without being a complete cakewalk.

I'm going to third the AE suggestion. Mobs designed to offer a challenge can be tough even for incarnates, provided you raise the reputation enough.

Really, all of Bright's suggestions are good ones.
