keyes worth it?

While I rather like the mechanic, if for no other reason than it adds something different from the usual "big bag of HP", "defeat satelite [enemies] to be able to effectively hit the BBoHP", "ambush!" or "stand here and you die"... I cannot disagree with what you're saying in regards to the upcoming change that hopes to attract new players.
They are in all other parts of the game the weakest form of survival, but because some other popular fantasy MMO is built around healing there is a false belief they are the best. The Devs stepping up and making heals the only thing that works is exactly what we didn't need right before a bajillion morons join the game in free mode.

In general I enjoy the new trial, and don't find it to be excessively longer than the first two, but I do have a couple gripes;
-Keyes getting stuck in map geometry. I'm not sure if this has been fixed yet, but it happened to leagues I was on twice - both times the GM only responded after the timer ran out.
-Disintegration + Freeze Time. On their own they are fine, when used in concert, annoying as heck.

-Antimatter getting stuck should now be fixed. I've done quite a few Keyes trials lately and we haven't had any issues with this.

-Yeah that can be tricky but there are ways to mitigate it such as stopping attacking if he is near to freezing time and someone is getting disintegrated. Also, fighting near his next regen terminal seems to reduce the amount of time you are held.

I completely agree that it is nice to have new mechanics. I just wish there had been a different mechanic. Like, let resistance work but still be autohit. Watch people beg for thermals and sonics. =) I dunno, something.

I think the IXP bug is making Keyes look less attractive right now for some people.

I personally don't see Keyes as any MORE annoying than BAF or Lambda, it just has its personal annoyances for me which are different than the other itrials. It IS a nice change of pace, it requires different strategies and team dynamics, and it awards an Empyrean merit as well as an admittedly small number of Astrals. But the reason I don't run it as much as the others is that the iXP reward is hosed right now. While that's not a problem on my main hero or my main villain, it is for my other incarnates. If I'm playing one of my incarnates who still needs iXP, I'd really like to see some tangible reward at the end of her trial run, particularly when running what tends to be the longest itrial in terms of time.

So far I enjoy Keyes because it is more exciting combat-wise.
BAFs are just three rounds of tank-and-spank vs the AVs with a few people fighting the adds.
Lamda is a bit of early steamrolling, then running around like idiots while 2 or 3 people take out the containers/boxes and leave all the enemies alive, then a tank-and-spank.
But Keyes, everyone is actually fighting nearly the whole time. And you break up into smaller groups often enough that it's not one attack per spawn before everything is dead, like a steamroll team, there are usually plenty of chances for 2 or 3 people to take on big groups of warworks. I like that much more.
That said, I think the reliance on healing is the absolute worst decision the Devs have made in years. We need more mechanics that convince people to not choose heal sets. They are in all other parts of the game the weakest form of survival, but because some other popular fantasy MMO is built around healing there is a false belief they are the best. The Devs stepping up and making heals the only thing that works is exactly what we didn't need right before a bajillion morons join the game in free mode.
