Stuff we need to push when we go F2P

We have public forums over at the Titan Network, home site of the Paragon Wiki, Mids, and Sentinel/City Info Tracker. Folks (including free/premium players) are more than welcome to come there and post, and veterans, of course, are welcome to come by and help out and join in the fun.
Is there any place still active they can go to discuss the game? I seem to recall there used to be some unofficial forums set up.

We're currently in the planning/early "working on" stage of a revamp of the Titan Network to make it more integrated and social networky. I'm hoping we'll have at least the first parts of it rolled out by the release of City of Heroes: Freedom. I'll let everyone know more as we get closer. If we can get it to the point we're envisioning, it should be a really valuable resource for free/premium/VIP players alike.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)

Im against this personally, soon as you start pointing players in different directions then the playerbase splits into cliches and well . . . . . . chaos

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

Hence why I said we should build a consensus on one place to send them if the devs aren't going to provide an official one.

Splitting into cliques is a bit of a cliche, true.

i'm all for the Titan Network as the central F2P community hub, although i don't envy the mods there if it happens.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
The new in-game tutorial should teach people how to add chat tabs and how to add chat channels to those tabs AND how to find player created global channels.
Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.
Keep in mind that player-created channels are only available to VIP i.e., subscribers.
Premium players can join supergroups, so that would be something to educate them about.
Indeed. All the more reason to TEACH people that they exist and how to use them, so that they can be encouraged to BUY access.

We, and the devs.
We'll be getting an influx of new players. I for one want to not only hook them on the game, but sell them on the lifestyle; make sure they experience the best of what CoH has to offer.
-AFAIK, free players won't have posting rights to the official forums, and I've heard nothing from the devs about setting up and "free area". Correct me if I'm wrong. If I am not, to that end, I suggest we work towards enabling free players a way to connect with the community. Is there any place still active they can go to discuss the game? I seem to recall there used to be some unofficial forums set up. Are they still active? If so, we should all get behind pointing new players there. If not, it would be really cool for someone to set something up.
-Paragonwiki.com
The wealth of information there is enormous and invaluable. And we still have active players who don't know about it. I feel it's very important to inform new players of this site.
-The official comic archive.
I can't stress how important I feel the comics were to this game. They made the franchise feel bigger than just a single online game. Having the tie-in made everything feel grander IMO.
-Mids and Hero Stats.
Let people know about these. They're not for everyone, but for some they make a huge difference in how they approach the game.
-Samuraiko's videos.
The community value of these are priceless. They build hype better than some of the official marketing and they offer to educate and illustrate the many cool things that have been added to the game over the years.
-Virtueverse and Unionverse
Again, it's about showing people there's a thriving community. It's been my observation that RPers make fiercely loyal customers and immersing new players who enjoy RP can only help retention.
These are just off the top of my head. I'll add more as I think of them. I encourage others to make suggestions too.
