Alternitive way to get Paragon Points.

So you never, ever hear people saying "Running X arc, pst if interested?" (For instance, Montegue's arc?)

And behaviour can't change with an added reward?

To be honest, I don't see any great content in this game worth encouraging with PP's.
And I do. What I'm looking at with the countersuggestion is avoiding the PLing the OP's suggestion would encourage and encouraging people to get probably as many (if not more) PPs for *playing the content.*

Heck, throw in a bonus for finishing story zones like Striga, Croatoa or Faultline (which, admittedly, rather screws over redside until either Croatoa or RWZ... but OTOH encourages more stuff like this to be made/added to places like DA.)

4. Main account deletes the character.
5. Repeat.
Said character would only earn four badges. And assuming no points are given for level alone would make it a useless method for gaining paragon points.

I thought you were talking about OP's suggestion as the post you quoted was referring to that.

Montegue's arc is a special case because the end-reward(access to the midnight club) doesn't rely on everyone starting at the same time. When you have a mission arc that takes a while to complete, you will likely stop at the middle(whole point of the story arc system as opposed to TF's). Good luck finding anyone else except the ones you started out with that are in the same location as you are within the arc. And if you want to start a new arc, in many cases others wouldn't have access to the contact. This is all assuming a situation that doesn't involve close friends or a superteam.

If it was possible to make the old content(and its rewards) more accessible out of ouroboros for PUG's, then yes I would be all for it. But as it stands it's quite difficult to have this coordinated with multiple people.

i have one question, what can you get in the Pstore?(for lack of words)
if it's like LOTRO do they simply add more and more then having a certain small amount of points on badges, prices in the store can reflect on that as can the amount of points you can buy.
for instance, you have a good looking tight shirt, this shirt is 300PP.
now if you buy points you can get 1000PP for $5, but every badge with PP assigned on it only has something around 10-50PP.
that way, buying things can be a pretty hard grind and it's your own choice whenever you want to grind for the badge or just buy a bunch, ofcouse the badges with PP are the hard/high ranked ones.

I was using him as an example. Yes, I *have* done this on multiple arcs and strike/task forces.

And again, with this sort of reward being given out, do you really think people *wouldn't* coordinate to run through arcs?

Reward or no reward, fact remains that it's really difficult to coordinate due to contact restrictions("you must talk to x contact before you can talk to y"), level restrictions("you can't talk to me ever again"), and arc advancement issues("I'm way back on the second mish guys please help"). Even if people flock to the old zones it will be a coordination nightmare.

The restrictions are so annoying that the good content effectively loses its flare and becomes bad content, and if you put a shiny reward in it people will just experience bad content more often.

This is partially why Ouroboros and the Reward Merit system was introduced, to make people run the good mission arcs and TF's. Ouroboros did away with all the restrictions and made things streamlined with the TF model. The only problem is that the rewards suck and people don't know how long certain arcs take(unlike TF's), so maybe that's something to consider.
