Yup I plan to, as in all my squishies. Don't have it yet (she's 8 I think, and I'm solo exploring the story in Praetoria so leveling will be a bit slow even at 0/x2) but even without CJ I'm doing fine with the cone, I had lots of practice with Fire Breath and the melee ones like Shadow Maul and Jacob's Ladder I can use well. I usually hit my desired targets with a quick leap back, and with CJ it'll only get better

Actually, I'd be less likely to skip it on a weapon based primary since it gives you another AoE to use before worrying about redraw. Combustion is slow since it's a DoT but it has a better radius than Fire Sword Circle, which makes it somewhat useful if you expect to be jumping in the middle of large spawns (and if you aren't, why play /fire? ) I'd personally skip Empty Clips and just jump into spawns hitting Combustion -> FSC -> Burn, then pull the guns and start blasting (if Hail of Bullets is up you can lead with that instead). Combustion is somewhat underrated if you stay in melee a lot... it makes a nice substitute for a cone which can be a pain to use in the middle of a pile-up. My Fire/Fire Blaster uses Combustion instead of Fire Breath and it works quite well, plus it's another place to drop an Obliteration set for S/L defense since /Fire has only one power that can take Kinetic Combat.

Combustion is probably a bad idea if you have enough burst AoE to drop a spawn in a few seconds, but assuming most of your targets will survive at least 5-6 seconds (quite likely unless fighting weak enemies) it's actually a nice power. It doesn't do much on steamroller teams that flatten all the minions in 3 seconds but in most other situations it's fine.

I like Combustion, but on my Tanker. And I wish Brutes and Scrappers had it since their other AoE (Breath of Fire) sucks so theyre left only with FSC and APPs.

I don't like it on my blasters. Ok I never played a blaster past 30 but I already feel like I'm crazy doing 0/x2 before DOs - inspiration usage and running away are common, I'm used to squishies but... Corrs, Doms, Trollers, who can debuff or incapacitate the enemy heavily before.

Playing a Blaster solo feels like I'm about to die any moment, I'd never pick Combustion. That doesn't mean I'm not enjoying the experience

Well I haven't played her much mostly due to the constant faceplanting (not used to blasters, and I know DP is not very good damage since I had played other Blasters inthe past but not giving up on her since I'm having a lot of fun with the combo - and since I bought GR not long ago I made 4 toons, each for each 'path' to read the storyline, sometimes it's hard to make a team to do your missions only, I don't want to outlevel Praetoria now) but I'm inclined to take Combustion now, just because Empty Clips seems so underwhelming to me... It's like I'm doing almost no damage using it. I know FS is a great attack but since I'm keeping ES because it's so cool (after all I don't think I'll min-max this build) and PR for the range and -res I think I'll have enough ST attacks.

Well, on my Fire/Fire Blaster I have softcapped S/L defense so as long as the enemy isn't using psi or pure elemental / energy damage I can generally jump into the middle of things. My standard procedure on a team is to let the tank / brute take the alpha then immediately jump in next to them and fire off every AoE I have. In those situations Combustion's large radius lets me hit a lot more targets. It also helps solo since FSC generally won't hit a whole 6-8 man spawn... for instance, when I clear the wall in Cim I jump into a spawn with Hot Feet going and fire off Fireball (as I jump in) -> Combustion -> FSC -> Burn then finish off survivors with Blaze, Fire blast and Fire Sword. Without Combustion I'd either have to use Fire Breath, which has a lower target cap and is harder to aim, or Rain of Fire, which is kind of slow. I prefer ignoring cones and just jumping right into the middle of the spawn and staying there until they all die or I do.

(It helps to have a high end build, inspirations, and a complete lack of self preservation instinct.)

My main and my namesake is a DP/Fire/Ice. And let me tell you, it is AWESOME. You get Capped Defenses w/ Ice, Fire for awesome Melee range Damage, and DP is amazing as it is.

Best combo ever, I took Stealth pool because it was thematic with the Character and I run Solo alot. What you do is do Invisibility w/ Hot Feet on. then, position yourself in the middle of a Mob. Since Invis is on, and only affecting you, Hot feet doesn't piss off the mobs yet. Do Build Up, pop off Ivis, and they are all trapped in your Hot Feet aura. Hail of Bullets + Fire sword Circle + Burn = Dead mob. Boo yah!
