Steampunk Chest Details: Issue from Beta
the mesh is too close/tight to the body. This has happened in the past with other pieces and still happens with different breast/chest sizes on the Clockwork Chest Detail, which I've bugged a few times with included screenshots. Eventually they get around to fixing these things but it takes an extreme amount of them for them to do so.
The breasts on the jacket model look very weird (they're smooshed in at the sides) due to them being deformed for easier fitting of the jacket models. This becomes very obvious when using any top without the steampunk chest detail items (bustier & corset). This is probably also what's causing a bit more issue with those chest detail parts on the non jacket bodies as they are different and not so deformed.
My personal opinion was even though these were jackets they should have been in their own category, like unique tops where you can find the toga. This would have allowed all glove styles, which jackets lack, all sleeves with said gloves, which sleeveless lacks, and not have given the deformed breast look. It surprises me that these things are not caught during development as they know that the breast size slider goes from small to large, yet only average ever seems to be developed on and the rest forgotten to be checked before release.
On a side note the ascension armor parts look a bit unfinished as you can see in this post here... http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...6&postcount=10

What's worse is that these same clipping issues occur even on the default model - and that, unlike the Clockwork chest piece - these... spaz! The clipping areas 'blink' rapidly; as if the texture beneath it is alive and trying to break free. That's a horrible way to describe it, but short of taking some video.. I can't think of any good way to put it.
But the CLockwork Chest piece really does bug me, too. It doesn't ruin nearly as many outfits, though - and you can fix it by lowering the chest/physique a good ways. I'd still like to see a fix for that too, though!

Oh wow. I just checked on Test and it's really that bad. It's NOT like this on Live. Hope it gets fixed soon!

![]() Yes, please! For some reason I read the patch notes and thought it meant this but was clearly wrong. I'd love it if we could also have all three - the entire thing, the frills without the cameo and the cameo and choker without the frills. |
On another note... I did PM a certain someone about this issue, and was told that the art team had fixed it a short while before the latest patch on Test. Here's hoping it makes the next build!
Funny; I thought that's what it would mean, too! I was sorely disappointed.

Glad to hear they already have a fix for it in the works.
Yes having a third "cameo and choker without the frills" version would be great. I'd also suggest a "plain cameo (with no design) and choker without the frills" version. This would let us have an "era neutral" item that could be used more widely for tech/magical/modern/etc. characters.

All righty, so! I mentioned this in beta, but now I come bearing more telling screenshots and a theory!

Problem: The 'fix' that stopped the clipping issue with the trenchcoats and jackets have caused the first piece to clip horrendously with the Tights and Top w/skin models. The issue of having *both* pieces clip through the Magic Bolero was never resolved.
Theory: Could it be because the 'Tights' and 'Top w/skin' sections use one body model for the torso, while the 'Jackets' (and *maybe* the trenchcoat, I'm not sure) category uses the Armored body model? (Or at least one very close to it - the shoulders get beefed up while the chest and, to a very small extent, the waist - get squished in and malformed.)
Proof:
First, with my 'base' model - which is very high on all the sliders:
Not convinced? Let's try this again with the Physique/Chest minimized. Bear with me; this is going to look freaky:
And there you have it.
