Need Some Fortunata help..

So um, I just resubbed sometime last week (after a long break, from around when GR came out..), and well, I can't figure out how to respec my Fort properly, you know, cause of the new inherent fitness pool powers letting me get more powers..

Anyway, can you experts (or just forum goers) help me out with my Fort build ? This is what I grabbed of Sentinel and then plugged into mids..

Not really sure what to do with the character at the moment, I've ran a few iTrials, had 0 issues there, I sit at around 59% defense (ranged, 54 melee) when Mind Link is up..

I only have about 10m inf atm, guess I really should start farming.. (Not that I really know how lol)

I can pretty much chain the two ST attacks or two AoE attacks endlessly one after another.. Maybe on occasion throwing in either or into the mix..

Also, can anybody tell me if this build is even worth using ? And what are Forts good at? I'm so lost.. I shouldn't have taken that break lol..

Not even sure I'm using mids properly lol..

Here are my current builds. I Prefer the Melee Version.

Melee Fortunata Build Link
Ranged/Control Fortunata Build Link

For an earlier game build pull one of the AoEs out of the Patrons and into Psynado and/or Scream.
Also, change any PS procs in the patrons to damage procs. The PS procs are apparently still bugged.

Thanks for those, Im still a bit lost in Mids, but I'm trying to figure it out lol..

Anybody else please chime in, would really appreciate it.

Even though I'm not the best at these kind of things, I'll throw in what caught my eye.

- Combat Training: Offense is mostly wasted, I personally don't think it's good, especially with TT:Tactics. It also can't be used as a 'mule' (single slot powers that are slotted with a universal/passive IO -think Combat Jumping with Luck of the Gambler -7.5% Rech.).
- CT: Defense and Foresight are slotted as if they were end-consuming powers. Take a look at Foresight and Mask Presence, the too are taken extremely close in your build (level 24 and 26 respectively). You could take what's in Foresight and put it in Mask Presence to save a few slots (since Foresight won't need any Endurance Reduction).
- You should have a respec from the inherent Fitness pool change, I'd strongly suggest you use it. Remember to put a few slots in Stamina though, I'm personally quite guilty of forgetting about that.
- In link with the above, you can use the slots from CT: D and Foresight/Mask Presence to slot a few additional powers that will fill the holes left by the Fitness pool.
- Dominate has no Hold Enhancement, I'd suggest thinking about putting some, even if it means having only half of a set bonus in damage and the other in hold (called frankenslotting, did I spell that right?).
- Mind Link gives a very small amount of To-hit and therefore enhancing it that way gives little benefit (the Recharge Reduction from Adjusted Targeting is still a good pick though imo). You should really consider putting a bunch of Def/Rech IOs (and some Def/End, End/Rech, etc. if you want the set bonuses).
- Other than that, I notice that you have 6-slotted many powers. While it can be good, it is not always the case. You could spare a few to slot some other powers (like, say, the ones who'll replace the Fitness pool).

I can't really suggest a build or something of the like since I'm not so experimented in the matter.
Hope this help.

Hey, thanks a bunch, I actually never though about not 6 slotting, guess I automatically went straight to that idea =| lol

I'm guessing thats a problem alot of people have..

Just realized that I could move adjusted targeting into aim or tactics, and then slot a defense set into mind link and reduce the need for the red fortune defense set bonus..

Some of your six-slotted powers give you substantial ranged defense bonuses (Maneuvers with Red Fortune and Thunderstrikes in attacks). Be sure you don't lose a bonus that you feel is important unless you're getting something more valuable in return.

Start with the basics for building a Fort. Get a solid single target attack chain (Usually Dominate-Subdue-Gloom). Softcapped defense to melee, ranged, aoe at minimum. As many leadership toggles as you can get without killing your end bar (Maneuvers and Assault primarily). After you have that sorted out add in powers that support your play style. Add in some AoE damage or control or even a melee attack chain. Slotting wise you want end reduction, +recovery, recharge, and defense. +HP and +regeneration always help as well. Long term goals would be perma Mind Link, perma Hasten, and 60%+ defense (for incarnate content).

I asked pretty much the same question recently and got a bunch of replies, including some builds. You can check it out in this thread here:

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=256737

There are of course lots threads on much the same subject, if you'd like to browse through the forums.

I think there's like about three or four different theories on how to build a Fort, depending on how much melee you mix in, and what pool powers and IO sets you go for. Mine is a ranged, controller-ish build that forgoes nearly all pool powers in favor of having lots of Fort powers and the big AoEs. It's an effective team build that works well on all trials I've played and task forces too.
