cloak of darkness question

Check your power customization. Cloak of Darkness, by default, will make your character disappear. If you have it set to the "No Fade or Pulse" option, your character will remain and it will look like just another aura power.
when i saw DA's on a team, i loved how they were just a ball of dark clouds type thing, so i wanted to roll one myself...but when I got cloak of darkness on my spines/DA scrap, it didn't turn me into a cloud, just another dark-aura. Am I thinking of the wrong power? Or does it only happen for others viewing you?

It should work for you and anyone viewing you unless you have some non-standard settings. You should no longer be able to see your player model anymore. If you can, something's going on.
What Dechs said.
There is an option that was introduced for Dark Armor a few issues ago that lets you set your armor toggls to not fade or pulse. If you do that you won't turn into the fluffball of doom. The default character model for Cloak of Darkness is the same as Dark Servant, it actually replaces your character model like Kheldian shapeshifting and Granite Armor.
If you are set to "No Fade or Pulse" your character model will not change, and Cloak of Darkness will just appear to be another aura.

I don't think CoD changes your model, it just swamps you with a heavy aura as far as I know (the Warshade version does the same thing) and maybe applies some translucency.
Dark Servant does indeed used the same aura, just with nothing other than glowies eyes in it.
